  A very disciplined production, focused and attentive to the composer's intentions. I thought the tenor was especially effective, and the soprano's voice was light and soaring. The main drawback for me, in listening to this rendition of one of the world's most profound and powerful musical compositions, was the intrusion, during the Agnus Dei, of an ad, warning me about the perils of vaginal yeast infections. One wonders how a KZread executive might respond if, during a funeral for a beloved family member, someone suddenly started singing about the joys of take-out Mexican food.

  Jetzt habe ich es doch gefunden! Danke an alle UngarInnen, die bei dieser tollen Aufführung mitgewirkt haben. Die Tempi sind genau richtig, da muss ich einem Kommentator, der alles zu schnell fand, deutlich widersprechen!!

  What a breathtaking performance. What precision. what passion. I did not know that the world produced such music lovers of such glorious calibre though not yet known to many. May you reach your star very soon, instrumentalists to vocalists and conductor. May God bless you all

  I'm just starting to explore this piece for the first time, and this is the third recording I've taken in. The other two were full professional groups. They were great in many ways, but the feel of this one is just so real. I don't know how to describe it, but I really like it.

  Try the version with George Solti, is impressive and I think the best

  @@azielleonmontes5495 Thank you! I'll check it out. Most recently, I find myself going back to the John Eliot Gardiner recording. The soloists are amazing.

  I agree that the Solti is good, but I still have to give the edge to Gardiner. Much of it has to do with the singers. The soloists in Solti are good, but they are singing more like soloists than like a group. And the choir has more pop at the start of phrases than I would expect in something like a requiem. I'm being really nit picky here because they are both great recordings and it's only a very small margin that separates them in my mind. We are rich with great music here on KZread!
