  My only two goals this year is to read good books and fall back in love with reading. I got back into reading early last year and instantly fell into the “Goodreads goal” trap, which caused me to basically ‘stress read’. It was mostly <300 page books I rarely enjoyed just to hit my goal and I bought so many books just because they were popular, not because I actually wanted to read them. If you’re wondering how that went, let’s just say my average rating last year was 2.8 😭 So this year I’m only buying books I’m actually interested in, and I try to only mood read in order to prevent a reading slump. I do have a rule to never have a physical TBR over 30 books, just to make sure my book buying doesn’t get too out of hand and I don’t buy books I don’t actually want to have on my TBR lol. I also put my Goodreads goal to 12 even though my current pace is two books per week, just so I can feel like I’m reading for fun and not because I have to. I use StoryGraph and I have reading challenges on there, but they’re not really time sensitive (like the alphabet challenge, or trying to read a book from every country in the world).

  I am currently reading What you are looking for is in the library. I've read 2 chapters so far and I like it, I find the difference in culture very interesting and although I think the translation I am readinh have its flaws I do like the writing style. I am reading it in english. 💖

  Yeah I read this book, along with your complaints (which I agree with), I feel like they made Talasyn up to be a super strong character in the beginning, and made it out so that she and Alaric were pretty much on equal level when it came to strength, and then once they get to Nenavar all of a sudden she’s just super weak for no reason.

  I also have done better in the first 6 months than every year I’ve read (excluding 2018). I’ve read 90 books so far! My highest reading year was 119 but my next highest was 79. It’s just been one of those years that books have been grabbing and keeping my attention. 😊

  omg i count audio pages separately too and i felt like i was listening to myself explain that 'cause i say it every month lmao you inspired me to try 10K pages in 10 days and after that, I think I'm going to start just counting audio pages in my daily goal too hahah

  the same thing is happening to me. ive read nowhere near 300-something books but ive never read over 65ish books a year and ive read 63 so far this last six months :O im very proud of myself for fitting in all these books considering i dealt with two major head surgeries and graduating senior year of high school!
