I was in college and watched this version regularly - I think I could watch once on the Indianapolis NBC station and then an hour later on the Terre Haute (IN) affiliate. I agree about the new, sleek set and while Swann wasn't up to par, he was no Rolf Benirschke. I'm assuming part of the problem, too, was NBC's affiliate clearance problem.

Originally, I’m guessing CAMOUFLAGE was ABC’s answer to CONCENTRATION (on NBC) in 1960. And you see CAMOUFLAGE in 1980, it’s M-G CONCENTRATION on steroids gone bad.

Win Lose Or Draw is a great show a 1980s game show favorite, I'm surprised GSN never showed Vicki Lawrence Shultz and Robb Weller's versions. And also Teen Win Lose Or Draw. But they only had Bert Convy's first season.

He's talking about the creation of the game itself. Not just what you're seeing on TV. The game was played by Burt Reynolds and his friends at parties in the 70s. It was ported to TV in the 80s.

I would make an honorable mention or at least a category for Best New Game Show of 1991 being Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? Because it was a smash hit for PBS and PBS rarely ever ran many game shows, especially the caliber of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?. It was educational, yet still very entertaining.

GameTek filed for bankruptcy shortly after these games were released. And the wheel layouts used here were largely based on the ones the show used until Fall 1996.

It’s interesting how the wheel was. Some rounds had the favorite ‘88-‘97 wheel. By the time they went the Sony Studios, the wheel change(which I didn’t like)

I’ve only ever played the N64 Wheel game through an emulator, never owned it physically compared to Jeopardy, Wheel ran fine on an emulator but the FMV’s always lagged and the picture seemed really dark compared to the actual cartridge. Still it was a fun enough experience
