  My eyes were opened by working with someone I had no idea was a Trans man. I am honoured he chose to come out to me when he had no obligation to. He already had my respect, but it multiplied. I recognise his courage in doing so at the time.

  Same here in Berlin. The police removed a group of 20 neo nazis right in time because they planned attacks towards the community. I wasn't at the CSD this time but I was the last two times when it was here in Berlin - and they were the most positive events I ever have been at. Everyone was caring, no strange looks at each other. Someone bumped into you and instantly apologized. So many beautiful people. Homophobic, transphobic, racist, fascist people have absolutely no place in my life and that also was a reason why i parted ways with my parents in 2005 (and havent shed any tears when they both died in 2022). And even though none of that hate would affect me personally (because I'm a mid-aged white cis-man, probably the most privileged group of people), It makes me angry and sad that there's so much hate against people that are different. And you know what? Most of those haters use "woke" as a bad word. But I'm proud to be woke. And theres "ok" in "woke". There is nothing wrong in being woke.

  The funny thing about pride is that even a lot of the LGB community itself has a negative view of pride as it is one of those things that just continuously pushes the boundaries of what the local populace & government will tolerate, and goes well beyond the scope of just trying to get the general public to treat straight folks and non-straight folks equally.

  I left home at 16 because my parents indulged in every kind of 'ism' language. I'm not gay (as far as I know), but I *am* Disabled. They couldn't connect the dots between being discriminatory to others while having a son who got the same treatment from those haters outside the home. Incidentally, July is also Disability Pride Month. We even have our own flag. 👍♿

  Totally agree with your sentiment. I’m still absolutely disgusted at the comments I read regarding the Olympics ceremony, so sorry for the rant. From wishing war on the west, hoping for an earthquake in Paris and throwing their religion at it, which to me doesn’t make sense considering they would consider themselves as good people. It was a show and if they didn’t like it, they could turn over. Simple! Alan Turing is still my hero and what he went through was totally unacceptable. As you say, love is love. It doesn’t cause harm, they are accepting of heterosexuals and welcome them in to their celebrations. Thank goodness that my city is also quite welcoming with diversity.

  The metal scene has always been the most welcoming, quietly-inclusive community i've been a part of. But there'll always be those few precious, sensitive little people (usually dudes who's whole personality is roughly 'Look! I AM real man who does all the man things - such as alcoholism, cheap tattoos and projection of my many shortcomings onto members of a minority') who both turn up at gigs and are just a part of society as a whole. Thankfully, they're greatly outnumbered by the folks who just want to have a good time in good company with zero thought given to someone's gender or preferences. And, at least from personal experience, most metal crowds will happily shun and actively throw out anyone who is coming in with any prejudices or ill intent. I've seen bands stop songs halfway through (Architects when a guy used a young female crowdsurfing as an excuse to grope her and Sam saw it happen, Polaris when a guy was shoving people into a circle pit who were clearly trying to get out of the way etc) to point out trash people doing harmful things and the crowd always support security in getting in and having them removed. Love and acceptance are winning and it only makes the opponents more angry and more bold. But eventually they too, like so many of the conservative 'values' they cling to, will be a thing of the past.

  With the way the world is now, how easy information is just ''out there'' freely, IF he comes out early, he will be hurt or worse. Now if he is, then he deserves it.... But as crazy as this sounds, he's safer in prison, because he has some sort of controlled environment. Outside, it will quite literally be fair game.... And i would imagine, even with protective custody people will get too him.

  I love Tobias' thoughts behind this sm. It's highlighting exactly what's off with that whole concept : self-proclaimed tv-"preachers" collecting money in the name of god and the church but instead of donating it they spend it on all that stuff that's already been shown... and yet they keep reminding the people to have faith in order to get their money. I just adore that he decided to emphazise those things that clearly. In addition, the football player scene also seems to be a common problem, especially for girls who are forced to go through this procedure but again, It's sth that's being shoved under the carpet until It's forgotten and that's just wrong! Thanks Tobias for this masterpiece
