The 1911 A's beat a Giants team that stole 347 bases which I think is still the record.

Let's introduce the manager of the 1909 Athletics... Connie Mack. Now the skipper of the 1919 Philadelphia A's, Connie Mack! And then, the Skipper of the 1929 World Series Champs... Connie Mack! Finally, let's being out the owner & manager of today's 1939 Athletics...the one, the only, CONNIE MACK!

So impressed with Cory for being able to speak openly about Chuck. In Danny's interviews he acta like Chuck never existed. Maybe because he knew Chuck and Cory were the talented ones. Cory was a good hearted wonderful person! RIP Cory!

When it came to HOF voting, poor Bill got his ass handed to him by a whole slew of inferior players. Not sure why this happens with some players. He was a great player whose stats hold up well to modern scrutiny.

Bobby tells a famous story and forgets what the actual call was. It was catcher's interference, not a catchers balk. If it was a balk then how did the batter end up getting first base? The runner was safe at second regardless. Piazza caught the ball basically in fair territory before it ever got the the plate which technically speaking prevented the batter from having an opportunity to hit the ball.

Wert was HUGE in helping the Tigers win the WS that year. just imagine if he cuts off Willie's throw home that Freehan was able to snag and tag out Lou Brock. he cuts that off and Brock is safe and the series never swings back to the Tigers direction. small move but big implications.
