    Its true, ignorance is bliss. I have been listening to this marketing BS since the first hype began of storage batteries for home use. So with a Tesla 14KWh battery, powering a typical household between the hours 6pm to 6am the next day with just the fridge (12h), lights (6h), A/C (4h), TV (5h) kettle (10m) the battery will be discharged in less than 1.5 hours. And yes this takes into account the duty cycle for items such as the fridge. So after 1.5 hours, your back on the grid paying money ! Even without A/C the batteries are dead after 3.5 hours. Perhaps they will also try to sell you a Tesla car so you can supplement the Powerwall capacity using the car battery, assuming it is charged !..........LOL Try a 50KWh battery to begin with.

    I worked out AC coupled has less restriction years ago, and add one to my solar installation. Just add to the switch board a circuit same as one for oven, and you can place the battery anywhere in the house. I bought a full set of second hand battery from Nissan Leaf, place them in a out door shelf 20 meter from the switch board. AC coupled save money even with no solar panel, charge up from the grid at off peak.Then discharge at shoulder and peak period, it automatically release just enough for the house to use, won't export to the grid. That is how I do in winter when not enough sun shine, via the mobile phone app.

    Didn't your company invests in Asia Philippines for an efficient good quality solar panels? There's china quality here not good. I think there's good type of cells that even rainy days it can absorb SunPower.

    Im looking for advice. If someone can please help me. Im renting a unit in a complex. The landlord gives me utility bills that have ridiculous amounts. And it jus goes up. In 3 months the consumption went from 584 to 1047. I asked for him to send me photos of the readings. I dont even know what im paying for. I hardly used electricity as im not at home 80% of the time. Hes taking chances because im a woman and know i dont know. Pls can someone explain. Its a whatt hour meter its says on bottom single phase 2 wire . It has 5 digits and a red counter just next to it. The meter boxes of all the units are installed further down the complex. Pls can someone tell me how would i make sure that im not being taken advantage of. And what should i look out for. This stuff is greek for me

    You could note down your actual meter reading and compare it with your bill reading if they match. Also is your meter shared with any other unit

    Honestly most utility companies in the US will not allow anyone in the meter. Easiest way to check is to look in your MSP and see if you have 2pole breakers or 3pole.

    Is it possible to use one phase from the inverter for domestique use and the 3 phases for a water pump for example??? Like we do in electrical sertings: we use the three phase to power engines and we use one of the phases to power the home. Can we do the same with solar energy???

  • @davidgreen424

    In you main fuse box you will have a circuit breaker named Mains if it's 3 phase there will be 3 circuit breakers , one for each phase. Another way is to look at the wires from the mains pole out on the road if you have two wires going to your house it's single phase , four wires for three phase , one wire will be negative or neutral.

    Do you mean something like the Sunnyboy Home Manager 2.0 ?

  • @GreenAu
    @GreenAu Жыл бұрын

    Hi David, Thanks for your comment. Yes, a Sunnyboy Home Manager has export limit functionality. If you are installing a new system or expanding your current system, the Sunnyboy Home Manager can be set up to limit export so your local distributor is happy! An added bonus, you will also have the ability to track all your solar generation, solar consumption, grid imports and exports. I guess you can consider this as a bonus. Thanks, Jono.

    @@GreenAu Hi Jono, Well that's what I needed to hear. I have 10Kw on a single phase and my current installer is adamant I need 3 phase $4000 or grid protection $10000 to add more , I'd like another 6-8 Kw . I spoke to Gavin Brackenbury-Soldenhoff from Teho and he was very helpful. I am emailing Ausgrid to ask what's possible. The Sunnyboy Data manager with a Modbus is also a viable option. Thanks.

  • @GreenAu
    @GreenAu Жыл бұрын

    @@davidgreen424 Gavin is a good bloke, glad we can agree on that. I'd suggest pressing go with the SMA solution and we can apply for a manual assessment with Ausgrid. We need to do this for you with our engineer Rob, worst case they say no and come back with an alternative solution, which is unlikely. I can nearly guarantee you it will be approved with us. I'll leave this with you and Gavin to arrange. Thanks, Jono.
