If you’ve ever said “I’m not creative” you’re in the right place!
Hello, I’m Jessica Taylor and I’ve been helping people make their own greeting cards for over 20 years!
I especially enjoy helping women who say “I could never do that, I’m not creative.” discover that they CAN make cards that look good. My “there are no mistakes in stamping” attitude allows for a fun environment for learning card making.
On this channel, you'll find videos where I share card making tips and techniques using supplies that can be purchased from my online store at shopinkitupwithjessica.com

I find the new format confusing, but change is good. I like the card sketches and the addition of the ephemera ( e fem era). Online shopping is moving forward for SU. More product can be offered online as I keep reminding my ladies. If you use the silicone mat for the liquid glue you can paint small die cuts to adhere them to your project
Jessica, what a sweetheart you are! I love your emails. LOVE my catalogs! I always look forward to the new one!! My first one is 2006! I am sorry but I really do NOT like this last one! Just isn’t a catalog, more like a magazine. Also, I don’t like to refer online for more. My catalogs are so rag tag with notes and bookmarks. The new one just doesn’t work!
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment. This catalog is different and change is hard. I'll definitely pass your feedback onto Stampin' Up!
Deleted my comment that I hadn’t received my catalog! It came literally within the hour! Just jumped the gun - lol! Going through now!❤😂
What card stock gsm
I use Basic White card stock from Stampin' Up! - bit.ly/3oNfdF1
I’m glad you discussed the catalog. Now there’s a couple more items I want. I can see using the larger embossing folders beneficial on a scrapbook layout.
Good to see your back missed your projects. I like circle dies and embossing folders the large ones are great for 5x7 cards.
Thank you so much! My youngest is off to college next month so I hope to have more time to share more projects. I never even thought of 5x7 cards! Of course, larger folders would be helpful for those!!!
Thank you Jessica! That was a fun go-through with your thoughts and ideas. Yes, I love Stampin' Up and you! There are some good ideas in this catalogue and how they organized it. I think you need to go through a few times to notice all the things you pointed out. But that's the fun of it! 😉I'd have to say, one of my favourite bundles has been Seaside Wishes - it's incredibly versatile and the embossing folder is absolutely stunning.
Thank you for watching all the way to the end! 😀I have also seen a lot of beautiful cards made with the Seaside Wishes bundle and I love everything beachy.
I love your stamp bundle… and you 12x12 one sheet card designs! I’m trying to cut up, and use a stack of left over retired paper! Thanks for sharing 😊❤
You're welcome! I hope you enjoy using this technique to make cards with your stack of papers
I really appreciate your walk thru of this catalog. It is not my favorite. I find it very hard to find products which makes it frustrating to shop. Your information was very helpful. Thanks for keeping it relatively short. My attention span is about 30 minutes.
Thanks for your feedback Kathy, I really appreciate it. Most items are easy to find when you shop the online store, especially when you select "Shop Products' from the Menu because it divides things up into categories.
I must say I do not love this catalog. I am older and have sight problems so some of the images such as white on pastel and vice versa are difficult for me to see clearly. And I don't like having to page through the catalog to find adhesives, tools, etc. I prefer the old layout where each were shown in sections. I do like the tips and card sketches and of course, card layouts. The index print is very small. Not sure I like being referred to the online store to see more of something, I prefer to see it in the catalog. Perhaps I am just showing my age. Thanks for your look-through of the catalog. I did enjoy that.
Change is hard. And so is seeing some of the things in this catalog, I agree! I also prefer the old layout with sections and like items grouped together. In the past, I used the catalog as a reference tool and I can't really do that anymore. But I also like seeing how different products go together as they are shown in this catalog. Online stores are a sign of the times and they are easier to add new products to on a regular basis. Thanks for looking through the catalog with me and letting me know your thoughts!
I would like a catalog please.
You can request a catalog here: www.inkitupwithjessica.com/catalog
Thank you sharing and the great tips. I like the new in colors too.
What are YOUR favorites from this catalog? Same as mine? Or do you love my not-so-favorites?
Does anybody know how to get your cling stamps to stick on your block when they just won't stick? That's one of the problems I have.
Sometimes I just put a dab of adhesive on the back of the stamp, but Stampin' Up! does have Cling Adhesive to help them stick better - bit.ly/3FG497t
Thank you. Have you ever done a book fold/book binding with a 5x7? My mind is going blank how to cut and score.
I have not. Off the top of my head I would probably cut and score my card stock for the card base just as I did in this video but add another score line on the front at 4".
Are they papers the same size as the folds?
The patterned paper panels on the front are both 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″
@@inkitupwithjessica thank you!
Tks Jessica
Q: How to Cut Paper Straight? A: Use a paper cutter.. wow, thanks youtube *eyeroll emoji*
Great card style! ❤ Thank you for this tutorial. 😊
You are so welcome, I'm glad you like it!
Thank you.
Thank you!!
Thank you.
great instructions/demo! thanks
Thank you, hope it inspires you to try this technique!
Thanks so much! I guess I had it backwards and had the adhesive on the front of my dies. UHG!
You're welcome!
Thankyou so much for the video. When I recieved my order I was wondering why there were stickers in the box, after I watched you put the sticker on. next question I had was how to store . You nailed it, thankyou again
Glad I could help, enjoy your new stamps!
Thank you so much for sharing. I could not figure it out😊
You’re welcome 😊
can you demo the spellbinders 3-D emboss folder in a big shot/kick? 6.1.24
I don't have any spellbinders 3-D emboss folders but have you tried it with the same sandwich that I used here for the Stampin' Up! 3-D folders? Base Plate - Folder - Specialty Plate. If your sandwich is too thick to go through your machine that way, try Base Plate - Folder - Clear Plate and if that's too thin to emboss your paper, try adding a few extra sheets of card stock on top of your sandwich until you get the embossed depth you like. Hope that helps!
Whats the name on yours glue?
I like to use double-sided tape. The one I'm using in this video is no longer available so I now use Stampin' Seal: bit.ly/3pm3H3O
I'm so upset these dies were before my time!
You could try this same technique cutting your paper with a paper cutter or using different die shapes!
Like this
But can you can-a-lope?
"promosm"
Oh my goodness! I was looking on KZread for a fun fold card for a gift card. This was the first video that popped up. I love this. I can use it for cards that aren't gift cards too. Thank you! 😊
You are so welcome, I'm glad you can use this idea!
You don't need a machine do these cards..right??
You don't need a machine, but doing this technique with dies does make it easier, especially easier to line up the design on your patterned paper.
goood ideas
Thank you!
this morning I have a crick in my neck , so decided to make card bases, and noticed I had different weights , not sure how I got some heavier ones?? any way, decided to make inside mats also i never have any ! found the instructions I wrote down and I wrote them down wrong so had to watch your video again. thanks
Hope the crick in your neck is feeling better! There can be a variance in the weight of card stocks but most work well for card bases and all will work for mats. Glad you were able to rewatch the video to figure out where you went wrong in your notes. Replays are a wonderful thing!
Jessica, what weight is best for cardstock to make bases with for cards?
I don't know what the weight is, but I use Stampin' Up! colored card stock or Basic White Thick card stock for my card bases.
Using your thumbs is so simple yet brilliant. Why didn't I think of that?
Thanks! Hope you find this to be a useful technique.
The roller inside isn't moving at all. Any ideas?
The roller isn't moving at all or it isn't grabbing your sandwich? Make sure you try staggering your plates and sometimes it can help if you change where you are putting pressure from the top while you're holding it. Sometimes I put a little pressure to gently tilt the machine just a little bit towards myself and then it will grab the sandwich better.
Love these, I’ve been unwell, I think these cards might bring me out of my fog. Great tutorial Thank you Xx
Hope you are feeling better and can get back to card making!
@@inkitupwithjessica Thank you.
Love these!
Thank you!
Cool project! 😃
Thanks! 😀
Love this idea. Xxx
Thank you! 💕
I love the idea of making a dozen cards when you have a chance, because it’s always when you’re out of time that you need one. Thank you for the simplicity of this design, it’s brilliant!
Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like love this idea!
Thank you! Love the simplicity of your instructions. You were so thorough and easy to understand; not all the filler material that any of us need to make a card. Plain and simple! Thanks! Keep up the good work!
You're welcome, I'm so glad you found my instructions easy to understand. Thanks for watching & taking the time to comment!
LOVELY!
Thank you!
This is amazing!!! Looks soooo good!!! Thank you very much!!! 😍😍😍
I'm so glad you like it, I hope it inspires you to make some cards!
Thank you for this demo. Very helpful. I was used to rubber stamps on wood blocks. This is actually more convenient for storage. 💗☺️☘️
You are so welcome! Yes, they are definitely more convenient for storage.
You are a very good teacher
Thank you so much! 😊
How did you hear the window sheet to the card? I missed that I guess.
For this card, I used the dimensional strips (at about 3:20 in the video) but now I usually use a double sided tape to attach the window sheet first. I show how to do that in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/la6o1tNxYNWZcbw.html
