Yes. But you should also angle the blade so that the attack slides down to your guard and doesn't break through.

Thank you sir. I am teaching lightsaber according to fencing principles and often have to convince people to attack the deep targets when an unguarded hand is clearly available. These drills should really help. (I work to edit/publish old Hungarian and Austro-Hungarian manuals from pre-Borsody era. If you're still open to Q&A, how can we who don't get access to these programs understand the modern Hungarian theory? How has it changed since then? ) Thanks again. All these beginner/fundamentals videos are a godsend.

Good afternoon, Master. I really need your professional opinion. I wrote to you by e-mail, but there was no response (I know that you are a very responsible person and try not to leave people unanswered, so I thought that you simply did not see my e-mail, so I decided to write again, but in the form of a comment to your video, so that You probably saw it). Thank you in advance for your reply.

to do the feint, it is needed to slightly back a bit in order to avoid the blade. Basically, not pull arm back but relax the arm and the the wrist and finger to avoid the blade. Then the arm will slightly moving backward.

Blade Master, greetings! It is very pleasant to watch you at work. Being a coach myself, I perfectly understand the nuances that people far from fencing are unlikely to be able to see. You radiate a fatherly calmness and understanding towards your students. You give your students the opportunity to learn from you your carefully correct technique. - I hope they understand how lucky they are with you? I wish you good health and the desire to continue doing your favorite thing, simultaneously delighting all of us! With respect.

@@adriansaw8329 Yes Agree with you. It was frustrated to teach too but it is a coach job as most of our fencers will be like this. That is the reason why we did this video. It would not be useful if we choose perfect fencer to demonstrate as the real life, the coach job is dealing with this kind of fencer most of the time. Lots of videos on you tube mainly choose the best performer but for us we try to choose the imperfect one and show how to help them :) Also this is the demonstration for the coach how to deal with the problem that fencers have. I hope you like it even though it is frustrating to watch :D

I really appreciate seeing imperfect students. As a coach I often am overwhelmed with what to work on. It seems to me that the best coaches know just how picky they need to be, and when to let things go so they can focus on one thing.
