I can confirm, this is authentic, one of my earliest Demos of the track, sorry to say. :-) I didnt know how to record and craft sounds at the time, i was just beginning. The dreadful Intro here became the Intro and Middle part, played with Simmons and sampled drums. The synths rhythms in the verses were changed towards a marimba sound. David Sylvians melody in the verses was used and became an intergral part of the record. As far as i remember, on the record Steve Lipson played the final guitar in the bridge, but one can clearly hear how Lipsons playing is based on David Sylvians approach. The verse Bassline and bridge changes are already there, so is the Chorus synth/Brass hook. Without the T.C.Horn/Lipson treatment, i guess this song wouldn´t have gone too far. 🙂

Andy’s voice is incredible ,him and Vince are a match made in heaven. His voice combined with Vince’s keyboard wizardry make them so unique. This was one hell of an EP in between 2 great albums

As per a previous comment, I’d love to hear Andy sing this right down low in his vocal range - the kind of bass he sang on the low notes of You Surround Me. You can really tell he was a chorister (ar Peterborough Cathedral) - he has an incredible vocal range.

Total nostalgia for me. I never owned it, but a friend of mine did and recorded it for me, waaay back in 1991. I'd never heard of Walpurgis Nacht until then. I seem to recall the vinyl had a devil etched into it or something? I definitely recall cloven hooves!
