mbps is a speed. a bit is 1/8 of a byte. 1MB is a capacity. So .85*10 is about 900KB... close to 1MB.

Qwest internet is the WORST in Bremerton Washington! They had us do their fake speed test online with their tech support on the phone & it's garbage. They lied to us about what speed they could provide, provided us with less than 60kb but their saying we are getting 500kb... my husband and I both work in the computer field. If you live in Bremerton Washington DO NOT USE Qwest as your ISP! They'll lie to you about what you're getting, if you call them on it you get a fake speed test!

Referring to the description box saying about the Speed Test, why would you test it out there anyways? And does the first test stand corrected than the second test?

Speed tests are all done from different locations using different paths to the internet. By default a speed test will assign the closest service to you geographically and that's usually on your ISP's backbone. If you want a good idea of your real-world speed pick a service far away from you. Or, at the very least, not on your ISP's network.
