The first even car I ever owned in the 90’s was an 89 Black Trans Am GTA. Saved every dollar working as a doorman for that car and harassed the owner by paging him daily to sell it to me and he finally did. That car was a beast back then especially for a young kid. Now I am just an older kid and a Black 98 T/A WS6 with 10k original miles, one owner is down the street for sale and it’s calling my name. So many modern V8 choices for some good ol American Muscle and it’s wild because I actually didn’t originally like this body back when they released it but now I’d love to have one. Definitely some decisions to make but this one still has the smell of a new car in it. That said, that Black Beast looks mean & is super clean, similar the one I’ve got my eye on. Appreciate the video !

@@CorysCarReview Thanks brother! Appreciate the reply , I live in the great white north so a lot of people put these beauties away , barely driving them because of the short season so you’ll find some insanely low mileage cars sitting in heated garages and next to new condition. And lately because of the economy as well as gas prices people are unloading these cars that one day will be on the endangered species list. I personally don’t mind spending a little extra cash to drive a N/A V8 powerhouse, listen to beautiful sound that comes from proper exhaust. Now I just have to go check em out and cross out some of the other options some more expensive, some less money.

Mine had a 409 in it with a three speed automatic and a posi rear end the guy ordered it custom from Pontiac. He went to the military and got killed I bought it from his dad for 500. It only had 3800 miles on it but boy was it ugly solid white exterior with black and gold with silver highlights velour seats and dash with black and gold hanging dingle berries all the way around the headliner but man was it fast especially after I added a new intake with a 1250 dbl pumper. Gas was 89cents a gallon then and round trip to work cost about twenty bucks a day.

The G8's left the Holden factory, fully setup and trimmed as a Pontiac, right down to the body panels and badges. In other words they were fully imported to the US and all Pontiac had to do was accept delivery and ship them to the dealers. Its the reason why when Pontiac closed, Holden got stuck with a lot of Pontiac parts with no customer to sell them to. They ended up selling a few Commodore SS's in Australia with the Pontiac nose on them to get rid of the excess stock they had left over, but they weren't very popular here and took a while to sell. Holden Special Vehicles sold the surplus Pontiac GXP's that were made up from surplus Pontiac parts. Holden finished them as right hand drive cars and moved them over to HSV who put their own front ends and seats in them, but they still had the Pontiac wheels and rear bumper and were otherwise GXP trim spec. They ended up becoming a limited edition model called the Clubsport GXP that HSV marketed at a discount to their normal range, to get rid of the Pontiac orders left over for Holden. By all accounts Holden got burned pretty badly by the sudden decision to kill Pontiac and a lot of the profit disappeared with the unsold inventory Holden was stuck with. When Holden developed the Chevy SS, they intentionally kept more of the parts common between the Holden and Chevy after the Pontiac deal. Aside from seat trims and US specific regulatory requirements like different headlights, taillights and of course left hand drive, Chevy didn't get anything that wasn't already availble to Holden from the SS and HSV spares bins, This went as far as the Australian version of the SS getting the same front bumper bar as the Chev SS, even though our regulations didn't require as big a front crumple zone. This common bumper ended up making the SS sedan in Australia, the longest standard wheel base Commdore here as the other Holden Commodore models had Australian spec bumbpers which were shorter in length. All Chevy SS's were also completely made up cars and shipped to the US and put staight on dealers lots. Holden never sold any knock down kits for the US and all cars were fully built and exported from Adelaide to the US, ready to go. Even the long wheelbase Caprice derived Police PPV models, were shipped with things like wiring harnesses, wheel options, batteries, alternators and centre consoles setup to one of the specs the US police forces could order. That helped minimise setup time in the US for the cars to be ready for active duty in Police fleets. Basically police ticked the boxes for what trim and options they wanted and the cars were built to order in Adelaide and shipped over. Then police there would finish the job with radios, light bars and markings etc and there was your long wheel base Commodore, ready to go into service. There was also a slighly better trimmed detective spec PPV available as well. As an aside Australian Police forces didn't like the long wheel base cars as they considred them to big for police service. Most highway patrols here used the standard wheel base SS Commodore, which was what you knew as the G8 or Chev SS. These cars typically had minor changes made for police service, like dual batteries, upgraded alternator etc, but were pretty much the same spec as the civiilan SS right down to the seat trim, spolier and alloy wheels. Keeping them the same look and spec as the civilian cars, helped resale when they finally went to auction after their police service.

I'm selling a 23 convert white over tan with 1k miles.
@as2223 dang that sounds nice!!! What are getting next?
@@CorysCarReview GX550 as it's more practical for my needs. I'd love to keep both, but can't unfortunately.
That’s cool! Hopefully I can get my hands on one for a video soon 😊
Thank man I appreciate that! If this one is calling your name it must be a sign 😉 good luck with it and thank you for watching
@poppad1187 I absolutely agree!!!
That is not how you pronounce gallardo
I I know, but my redneck Kermit the frog accent won’t allow me to pronounce it correctly 😂
Dang I bet that car was fun to drive. 89 cents is the lowest I can remember gas being as a kid. No one cared about fuel mileage 😂 it was glorious. I bet that 409 was rare then. My son still talks about how much he loved this car lol
Wow!!!! That’s some great information! I really appreciate you sharing that. That’s info that I never found or ever heard about before. I love the GTO’s, the G8’s, and the SS’s. Super fast and cool cars that really hold their value well.
You can get one big screen although they are two split images on same screen if you opt for the GT Premium. 😁
O really? Thanks for sharing. This was a last minute video, so I didn’t get a chance to really look up much info
What percentage tint is on the front and back?
I honestly don’t know. It was done before we got there. I’m guessing 35% on the doors and 20% on the back glass
If you find out let me know. Looking for something light and that looks about right.
@Rskitalll I know 35% on the front doors is legal…… however I usually go. 20% on the doors and 5% on the back window
@Rskitalll we shot this video back in October, so unfortunately they’ve sold it, but I would guess it’s 35%
It’s fine thanks for responding! Keep it up
I got a 97 trans am just like that but with the handling and performance package from factory, LT1 even the factory WS6 wheels and the color black.
That’s cool. I think these cars will always be timeless classics
I had a 76 it was blue and white
Nice!
Oh the memories! I had one mine was red with craiger ss wheels. Thanks for the flash back.😊
You’re welcome! I think some air shocks would have been perfect for the back. Then some wider rear wheels and tires
SS Craigers are perfect

O man absolutely! Sucks you can’t get them there. Definitely a lot of fun and fast!!!!!
The green on that Cadillac is bad a** It's a great color for the car
Yes, that's a bad machine, and it's luxury inside. Not like they're other cars is just all engine with no kind of thought idea it to luxury at all. I am so glad that I got my black wing instead of those chargers or challengers.
For sure! I loved driving this car, and the 6spd would make it even more fun
@CorysCarReview Yeah, I have CT4 V blackwing but it's still VERY fun to drive.. but I am wanting to trade it in when the 2025 models come out then I want to get the CT5 V Black Wing.🙏🏻
Cool Video! I have this exact car in white. My Dad bought the car new in 1996. I am currently getting the engine worked on and upgraded with a Lloyd Elliott cam, heads and headers due to having the typical LT1 blown head gasket problem, so I figured I would do the upgrades while I had it torn down. Very cool and very rare cars!
Nice! I bet that will sound good when you’re done! Pretty cool it’s been in your family since it was new
Guess depends on the year or dealer
That green is sick! 🔥🔥
Nice Granada! I’d take that in a ❤beat! My Mother had a 77 when I was a youngin. Two door, gray with maroon vinyl top and pin stripes. 302 car. Many memories ridin around in it!
That’s so cool! Thanks for sharing 😊
Is that paint or a wrap?
It’s painted
Sterling Gray Metallic
I had 2 Granada's 1 was a 76 4 door other was a 78 2 dr both had inline 250 6 cylinder engines very good cars
This one definitely got some looks
Sick car! just wish they made a full sized sedan still the ct6v BW is priceless. Also incorrect on the BW badging. My dealer has 2024 and the Blackwing is under every logo, sides and back. Just fyi :) awesome vid! love the sound.
O ok nice to know. That’s some info that the owner had told me, so I went with it lol. Thanks for watching 😁
I have a 2023 blackwing. It only says blackwing under the back logo.
@bencarey243 just like this one lol 🤷♂️
