Unpopular opinion: This version feels unnecessary. I don’t like it not because the new animations themselves are bad. It’s just that it does not compare to the quality of the original. The way the transitions work in the original and how the models flow into each other in a seamless way is not replicated with this fan add-on. The fact that a different person made the new animations feels blatantly obvious. Even subtle things like the detail in the new models that make it extremely obvious that MMD was used whereas in the original you can’t tell the animation is using MMD because of how clean the models look. I can see that there was an attempt to emulate the style, it’s just not nearly as creative as the original and it feels like it’s intruding on the original work in an attempt to make it “better” when in reality it’s just amazing on it’s own. Sorry if this sounds harsh, this is intended to be constructive criticism. Everything I just said might be obvious, I just see nobody else talking about it so I felt like I had to say this.

I had no intention to make it better, I just made an attempt to create a tribute to my favorite animation by extending it while trying to mimic the animation style as close as I can, seeing as no one had done so. I can name a couple of people who could've done a FAR better job than I have. In any case, I do understand where you are coming from and by no means will my animations be able to replace the original.

Not a fan of interpolation used on the original for this video The original 30fps is very smooth already. Also there is an official 720p version released in 2015 with pump it up prime. Its scaled up from the original video master (talked to anira's friend to confirm) and has way less artifacts than the nicovideo upload. There is also Minoshima's 1080p upscale based on the original video master but is very slightly cropped and the contrast is messed with. I also have a 100% accurate shortened version of the lossless audio i made, i could share it.

@gensokyopsycho I also found pretty everything I could find about the extended version from concerts. I'm going to learn MMD to make an accurate 3d recreation. Only few on youtube are kinda accurate and it's recreations by my friends. We finally solved a scene recently that the lack of footage of was messing with us by analyst what we have very closely

The extended part of this is definitely more fitting to the original MV than the one shown at concerts. Creative and smooth transitions between what the characters are doing instead of just a slideshow of them dancing. Glad KZread showed me this, good shit. 👍 Oh and I'll definitely be needing a blanket because of that Satori/Koishi transition 🥶🥶🥶
