Interesting use of older games with the design in this one. The score font is from Defender and the background crowd noise is the engine sound from Star Raiders.

I had this game when I was a kid. My aunt gave me her 2600 and a bunch of games. I'd play this with no manual, and no earthly idea of what was happening or what I was supposed to do. I have a theory that's why many people who grew up with this game feel like they do about it. I liked Ms. Pac Man and the Muppets game Pigs in Space the best. The bowling game was cool too. Rock on with your bad self.

Actually looks better than this on an old TV. I used to play the heck out of this back in the day. Interesting story: The guy that wrote this game, Bob Polaro, was team buddies with Todd Frye, the man who (in)famously made the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man. When their team leader presented them with two games to work on, Defender and Pac-Man, Todd Frye let Bob choose which one he wanted to do and he chose Defender because he didn't think Pac-Man would be possible (due to the extreme limitations of the system), leaving Pac-Man up to Todd. The rest is history!

"Eliminator" was the 2nd game (preceded by "Space Fury") in the SEGA/Gremlin series of vector games. Probably the most interesting thing about this game was the fact that up to 4 players could play simultaneously (there was 2-player machines & 4-player machines). It's possible this was the very first arcade video game to have such a feature. If you can last long enough to blow up the base around 15 times, the base will move around the screen crazy fast. My highest score (so far) on "Eliminator" is 540,100.

@@nickparagaming8305 No, I didn't work for SEGA. When I find a game I really like, I try to learn all I can about it. There's not much on the SEGA/Gremlin vector games. Over the years I've done a lot of digging for any info I could find. It also helps that I was there when these games first came out, so I learned a lot from playing them...a lot! It looks like "ZEKTOR" is the only game in the SEGA/Gremlin vector series you haven't made a video for. I highly recommend it.
