KBL Texas Homestead

KBL Texas Homestead

Come along with us as we share videos about our journey through transforming our home and property into a farm. A dream and goal that we have shared for a very long time and we are excited to share our journey and triumphs as we take on each day fulfilling our hearts with the joys of this process. Our home was built in the 1940’s and we are loving every bit of its old charm. It sits on just under 7 acres and we will be vlogging each transformation, our diy’s, our garden, our animals and how we do our lives!

    Purdy cool, got an idea, I will try, fill the bottle w/dirt force a small piece of PVC through the bottom, and out the lid, slide slide the peach limb through the PVC, then remove the PVC. Just an idea.

    Take a ziplock bag fill it with soil, flatten it, make a cut horizontally, wrap it around the tree, wrap the bag around the limb, tape the bag around the tree, wrap some aluminum foil around the bag is another way we have watched it done too

    Just keep in mind that if you have lost your ground on any of your safety switches, it will not allow that solenoid to switch on and allow voltage (on&off) therefore by jumping it with a screwdriver you could mask good working solenoid. You need to pull the wiring harnesses off the back of the solenoid and make sure you’re getting a constant ground, and power from the battery side as well,

    I am pretty sure that is whats wrong with mine. I might just clean my nuts and terminals with a wire brush and it will make contact. Sometimes you can hit the solenoid with a hammer and it will start working. Thanks for the video.

    What i don't get is that isn't this like girdling a tree? Every time I've tried this method, the branch died.

  • @kbltexmex
    @kbltexmexАй бұрын

    If you keep it covered and moist and preferably dark it will force roots out. Doesn’t always work so if you have multiple branches to try it betters your chances of one taking. I usually do branches I am planning to prune anyway. Also time is of essence you don’t want to do it while it has fruit. Early spring or after fruiting is complete works best for me

    Made it little cumbersome. A side cut from lower hole to bottle cap would have made it easier to fill the bottle with soil. A foil wrap and a zip tie over the bottle could take care of the cut, sun light and rain water.

    Does a peach tree have to be grafted to some sort of root stock or will you get a good tasting peach just from this new start? So once this roots, you just plant it? Thanks for the video. I want to give this a try!

  • @kbltexmex
    @kbltexmex4 ай бұрын

    The new start will determine the taste of the peach. Root stock is just to give it a better start. Yes once it roots plant it and let it grow.

    I cut two 6ft TOPS off of my Peach Tree today. I scraped the bark and exposed the fibers. I poured Clonex on them. I then stuck them both in a 5gal bucket with half a gallon of good water. Will they root in the water bucket method???
