RND more wide more details and more spread. (great for final touches on rock, orchestral and instrumental music) SSL more foreword , more bottom , more in your face. (great for heavy bass music like hip-hop , reggae ,dance ...) both useful , i disagree with youtubers whose selling fusion for just MBT (most likely it is marketing stuff)
sounds like my 5059
Your fucking buzzradio sound of kmr TOOOO LOUD, at the end in my ears, are you NUTS !!! ?
Fair Comparison between these two. I have always wanted the SSL then MBT came out now i am wondering which best for me
Both of them sounds awesome, and definitely the 4011 it's more with a clear sound!
The EQ is smooth and pleasant. Not tubey warm (thankfully) but it opens frequencies in a nice way.
Este aparto está a la venta /cual es su precio????
Es mejor que un equealizador o igual!!!!!!!
Holy smokes that acoustic had some kind of etheric aura around it when the dangerous was engaged. Sounds amazingly hi-fi. What acoustic was used?
Damn - sounds great! Any idea what those acoustics were recorded with? They sound wonderful
Please would someone tell me the name of the song that starts at 3:00? The name of the singer would also be much appreciated. Thank you!
that black and white effect is unnecessary in my opinion, let us just hear it. Nice review though, thanks !
Where in the chain is it used best with a EQ and Compressor?
just bought one brand new plugged it in it wont turn on
why didn't you bypass the unit once you dialed it in? I mean I can tell that it compressed things. . my dbx 160 can compress things
I tried to close my eyes , and difference can be noticed. General the SSL sound a bit dry compare to the MBT. The MBT plays nice low frequence bass.
Hmm, idk if I really think this is the best demo of the MBT. Every example I see here the song is barely peaking on the meters. Which actually renders the Zener Driver obsolete as you won't hear any audible difference until the unit is near clipping. In the user manual, you can see suggested starting points for certain genres and they spell it out where the peaks should be reading to get the intended sound from the box. Quote from the manufacturer's free PDF suggestion on a Modern R&B song: "Output Level Metering: 23-24dBu" vs. the 12-16dBu we see here.
Bias smh. Why compare the two aren’t symmetric and besides you are over processing with the SSL Fusion which is a deviation from the manual’s Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
sibilance on c100 is harsh mid is more controlled on u87
MBT all day every day
No mid side ?
Yes, this can operate in stereo, dual-mono and mid-side 👍
SSL is fast and punchy; Neve is slower and smooth.Depends on what is needed, or preferred. The music I make would mostly lean towards the Neve, but on faster tempos, the SSL would be perfect. Steak or Veggies? I like both.
could that super silk be doing too much ? then ssl sound automatically little low on highend
Loved it!
Does it have a sequencer? Thanks for answers
Hey @kleinebombair - there's no onboard sequencer on Implexus.
Very bad settings on fusion,it looks like you made it on purpose,I have one fusion and you can make it sound better
The Sony sounds smoother and bigger. The Gefell is smaller with more mid's. Both good for different things.
What kind of tubes are used? 22 of them...
8x NOS military grade 6BA6, 12AXY, 12AT7 & ECC99 per channel (11x valves per channel, so 22x in total). The 6BA6’s replace the 6386 found in the original unit as these are now very rare so not a sensible choice for modern manufacturers (also bearing in mind long-term serviceability). Hope that helps…
Too crazy with the Silk. Was meant to be used sparingly - even says so in RND manuals.
really excellent mixes - shocked how nice the MBT sounded on that country mix - it was already a great mix but it was like an entirely different (better) song largely because of the stereo width and enhanced mid presence!!
Thanks for the work you do!
A pleasure! Hope you find them useful 👍
Gold
Strangely liked it more on single tracks as on the full tracks.
the dnb mix sounds better on bypass
COOL material
tuning fork abuse -- love it!
I am so glad I bought this. I love the tone
Good to hear - we're big fans of the H2 Helios kit over here! 👍
The first mix sounds stereo - how did you guys process that with this comp? Each track separately? I was under the impression the first example is on the mixbuss
Yes, each track was processed individually - you can check the individual settings in the schematic under the video as it progresses. We then break the track down and build it up from the drums up (soloing each instrument in turn) so you can judge how the processor affects each one. If you check the "Full MIx" section at the end you can hear the full processed/bypassed sound. The idea was to demonstrate how the EC5B would influence your mixes just using this single processor to get an idea of its sonic footprint.
@@kmraudiothats what i figured. Sounds awesome
Super oversized
I like the country mix. Can it be found anywhere?
The MBT, the way it's being used, has way more clarity in the high end. However, the Fusion sounds more "like a record." Perhaps if the MBT is followed by tape (or a tape emulator) it would sound more like the great records that were made on Neves, and less like crystal-clear, clean digital.
Sounds better than the manley vari mu for hip hop
I really want one of these.....
I was really on the fence with getting the MBT before watching this video; not anymore. I’ll definitely get one. I already have a Fusion and I’ll keep it. I think both units can serve their purpose.
Wonderfull microphone, the workers move as sloths,so slow, that makes it expensive too.
Any noise issurs on quiter passages?
This comparison is useless! The settings is totally random on both unit and especially on The Fusion the HF compression threshold is set to high all the time makes everything sounds muted and dull. Also the the space is either too narrow or super wide. 😒
I would think an audio company would know to mix the title audio down to be at a similar level as the guitar recording as not to hurt everyone's ears or speakers
I put just as much care and attention into my guitar playing, into my cooking, into my playing with my dog, but i'm not as expansive. No, no i know, but this mic is the swee heatest mic on planet E.
The same goes when comparing Citroen and Ferrari. Neve is so much better...
