I became a super fan of theirs with the first album and still love them to this day. They have never left my top 5 all time favorite groups.
I love that line "i crossed this bridge, oh maybe seven times, but only now i feel calm" goosebumps
Oh and when he says wash the darkness and it hits that "clean" chord. Mmm.
Gojira is a perfect band, their lyrics have a heavy meaning, life, death, enviromental , humanity , etc, their instrumental part are heavy AF and groovy... i mean... Gojira is perfect.
Man how you don’t mention also Believe from Manic Monlight? It’s basically o e of the best songs of that album a great funk rock track, very positive and energetic.
Black rose immortal, shit, your on the right path, MAYH, is the prelude to the greatest stretch of albums ever released ❤
This song gives me chills, mostly because of Bjorn's voice during that "YOU TURN AWAYYYY" part
“The toadies” lol
Love the two singers together. Reminds me of the old classical masters, when they used major and minor together as a sort of contrast. The grain of the male vocal and the softness of the female vocal have such a delightful interplay of opposites. Grand!
Most underrated song from DT. Personally, by far my favourite
first gojira i learn and my hand hurts alot
I know it's 3 years later, but I would have loved to see your reaction and analysis of their song Phantom as it's my favourite from them. If by chance this band fell off your listening rotation at any point, please take this comment as an opportunity to remember how incredible they are and add them back in.
My top 10 in no particular order: A Farewell to Kings, Presto, Hold Your Fire, Hemispheres, Snakes and Arrows, Vapor trails( remix), Moving Pictures, 2112, Fly by night and permant waves. A list that has a lot of variety.
i love joel ekelof 😍
New to the channel but huge Soen fan, you should check out their latest album Memorial especially the super emotional Vitals ❤
Had the pleasure of playing/working with these guys several times. They’re great people, the most talented musicians I’ve met. Not nearly enough attention.
Man Dedicated to chaos above The Warning is just unacceptable.
@@diegomazzaron9191 That is wrong. I didn't even remember the order. My current order would indeed have The Warning higher.
@@sonicallydisruptiveyou are the only person I have watched that didn't rank dedicated to choas last it's an awful album even worse then Geoffs solo albums that are also awful. Worst album from an 80s band I've ever heard
I would say there has never been a band that let me down so much as Queensryche The reason: The 80s albums up to Operation Mindcrime were masterpieces. Then the next three albums got progressively worse until they reached a zenith of playing boring mundane music throughout the late 90s and 2000s. Dedicated to Chaos and Frequency Unknown were some of the worst albums recorded by any band I have ever listened to. It was not until they got Todd did things improve. Condition Human is actually pretty good. Liked this video. You have a very relaxing voice.
I’ve seen these guys live so many times and it’s always an incredible experience.
I love this song
Love this! Do you still have the music video of this song? It's been scrubbed from youtube!

They have ~125 songs and ~120 of them are *VERY GOOD* and the other 5 are "just" good. Show me another band with that much creativity and talent, female or not.
Bro , every new Nightwish song you hear becomes the next new favourite Nightwish song ! It's just the way it is with them, so you just roll with it 😁🇦🇺
My top 10: I Break Clean Today Deadhouse I Am Nothing For My Demons In Death, A Song Right Into The Bliss (their best) No Good Can Come Of This Departer Funeral Wedding
Awaken the guardian is amazing
I like how they escaped the Contemporary Christian Music scene, too.
The picture which moves when it really begins is a great idea ! 👋 🤘
Good ranking. III Sides is #1
I had read an article in a guitar mag that asked 25 big name guitar & bass players to name their top 5 desert island albums. I kept seeing players like Billy Sheehan & Nuno Bettencourt mention King's X - Gretchen Goes To Nebraska. So i told my sister to get me the cd for Christmas. She did and the love affair began. I went out and got Silent Planet and was hooked for life. I've seen them 12 times , which is the most i've seen any single band and i've been to about 700 concerts starting in 1977 with Aerosmith. I've met the band & hung out with them 7 of the 12 times. Doug used to walk around the club pre - show and talk with fans as well as after. Super nice , down to earth guys. Their tour schedule understandably slowed after Jerry suffered 2 heart attacks. They should've been worldwide superstars.
I am really enjoying Theories of Emptiness. Tom is such a talented guy. I also like his work with Redemption and the song on Demon Hunter’s Exile album Silence the World” is excellent.
1. Coal 2. The congregation 3. Pitfalls 4. Bilateral 5. Aphelion 6. Malina 7. TPS Source: crazed leprous fanboy
This is best album of all 2023 albums!
Very solid album, maybe two tracks I might skip here and there. Did you get a chance to check out Artificial Language - Distant Glow EP yet? Ohh also recently I've fallen in love with Hippotraktors new album Stasis. Kind of got a post metal vibe like The Ocean, with some Opeth touches and even Tesseract like grooves here and there.
1997-1999 is the epicenter of their work, PERIOD. Falling into infinity, Liquid Tension Experiment 1 & 2, Scenes from a Memory... Com'on!!!!
Your initial reaction was the same as mine. Katatonia goes electronic. But it works.... You're a guitarist, I'm a bassist/keyboard player, but we're sharing a view. I ❤ this band.
Time II D-80 😉
You Mr, speak from the heart ❤️🤘
Since when is louie ck doing metal reactions
'sup Mr.KZreadr, found you via your old review of DVNE and liked what you said about that excellent track. Thought I'd jump up to the now and mention that a couple of weeks ago they released a new album that's even better than the last. An absolute banger. Several tracks you could take a listen to and I'm sure your subs will love it.
Ultimate musicians beloved band
Some of the best songwriters in the business. Absolutely phenomenal discography. Every single record is excellent. Great review! I’ve been loving the positive spin on the darkness in their last five records, as that message has evolved slowly and organically.
La mejor banda de todos los tiempos... King's X
gotta say with an unbiased point of view, I don't get the reverence for awaken the guardian. It's just not good sadly
Louis C.K. reacts to experimental psychedelic black metal
My preorder will be available for pickup on Friday. I'm excited!!
It definitely has it all Katatonia in it pure love
For their last attempt at popularity, I found Ear Candy to be earnest, honest and heartfelt. Like so many of their albums, it has a killer closing track.
Another masterpiece from Marty. Always fresh, exotic licks and beautiful music overall. Thanks for your review! Btw, Which one is your favourite song?
Not to mention the world's greatest love song. Goldilox, it should have been a radio hit for teens to dedicate to thier girlfriends.
Would you consider reacting to more katatonia? I ve been watching a few videos of yours reacting to them and I m curious if you would like to do the whole The great cold distance from them, every songs deserves a listen
I love the new album. It is beautifully depressing. They’re like a modern day Alice In Chains.
