Honestly? I have no idea what people's motives are or what companies' motives are I think companies ultimately do what is best for their shareholders, but I "grew up" in management with the idea of a balanced scorecard. You need to take care of all aspects of the organization. One of the best CEOs I ever met just said, "Act ethically, have fun but make money."

I have been with a bank for just over 9 years. I make just above 100K. I have been WFH since day one, but during the pandemic, my old manager retired and my new manager doesn't want to recognize my WFH status. There is no way I am quitting over RTO requests, I am just ignoring them. I am over 55, if they want to push me out, there will be a nice severance in my future. I do my job, I do it well, I happily seek out and take on new projects, WFH does not impact my performance, I see no issue.

people using ai to pass school and collage tests, are going to cause higher education to be meaningless for many degrees that are not extremely strict about allowing electronic devices into the class test areas. building testing rooms that block all wifi and internet will be required or they will be graduating people that never learned a thing.

This is one of the key issues of AI. As a writer, even as a journalist, I read other people's stories and write my own pieces, often informed by them. It's core to the industry .I'm a songwriter and I can see just how many songs are "inspired" by other songs. Even the mighty Beatles appear to have taken other artists songs.So it's not unique to AI. But when AI absorbs content and creates new content, we regard that as different. I"m not disagreeing with this, but we have to find out where the boundaries are before we can insist they are respected. Unfortunately, we are having this debate after several meta models have read and absorbed the majority of the available content. Talk about locking the barn door after the horses escape!

Not sure what you mean? Do you mean it's so bad that nobody listens to it? It's one of top tech podcasts on other media. Or are you saying that it's a shame it only got 19 views and my response would be that this is an experiment and I'm trying to learn what will and won't work on KZread. It took me years to build my audio audience but after that it grew by 50% last year and we have close to 2 million downloads now, so I'm prepared to be patient and learn. I accept all comments - critical and complimentary - so thanks for taking the time.
