    Planning on making mine their own pearl necklaces from a huge bead stash I inherited. They get to chose the beads and style. Also considering making shawls to gift day of since it is a winter wedding and I love knitting shawls, they will have the option to wear or not day of, but will have a heartfelt gift.

    Excellent tips! Im a professional wedding officiant, having performed hundreds of weddings. I follow most of these tips in my practice. It is really important to remember that the ceremony is not about the officiant or their opinions. Write the script and have the couple approve the language being used - Never go Off Script! No off the cuff remarks, no ‘surprises’ for the couple.

    Is there any precedent for having the couple and witnesses to sign the wedding papers before they go down the aisle, while some music is playing? Before their Kiss and Recessional? Or do you just get them after their pictures are completed after al that has already happened?

    Actually, it DOES go in the buttonhole. That's traditionally what it was made for. Higher end suits still have the latch that holds it in place. Men's clothing has a longstanding tradition, and men's fashion has always been rather functional. Pinned-on, completely exposed flowers look bulky and awkward.

    Who gets them to do all this on the day of, and what would you suggest doing if the party is very small and basically everyone you just described makes up nearly all of the guests and you wouldnt have anyone to be an audience to the procession?

    Thank you for these tips;). I’m praying im a helpful blessing MOG. Our son proposed last weekend & as parents of groom we were honored he allowed us to be part of the proposal. It actually has helped us to “let go” in the sense and bless him Forward even more on this journey. There’s so many emotions for both sets of parents. 🙏🏻

    8:57 problem is, many of these so called 'fine art light & airy' wedding photographers tend to showcase photos from 'styled photo sessions' in a controlled enviroment from some expensive workshop they attented.

    Here's a thought.... don't have bridesmaids. It's been my experience that there's always that one bridesmaid who steals the spotlight. On top of the bride blending in and not standing out in group photos.

    Goodness me, are weddings still this formal across the pond? I have my instructions on what I need to do - son and long-time partner are planning and paying for it all - both sets of parents just need to show up and do what they’re told😆

    I understood that the officiant is the person who will do the rehearsal I’m confused.

  • @jenniferludders
    @jenniferludders8 ай бұрын

    Usually if there is a wedding or venue coordinator, they will run the rehearsal. If so, the officiant may or may not attend the rehearsal. If the officiant attends, they will follow the coordinator's overall lead and just direct the ceremony transitions. If there is no wedding/venue coordinator to direct, then usually the officiant will direct the whole rehearsal.

    Wonderdul encouragement. Yep. They made me cry today. I’m trying so hard to honor what my future DIL wants. She didn’t mean to hurt my feelings and I didn’t mean to stress her. It will all work out. I’ve never seen the officiant or florals on the list for groom’s family. We are able to host the rehersal dinner and I’ve certainly seeking wisdom from other MOG friends. Thanks for the helpful tips. Love language tip is also a good reminder.
