Wicked Auto Detailing

Wicked Auto Detailing

Welcome to the Wicked Auto Detailing channel, a channel for both professional and DIY auto detailing enthusiasts. I cover many auto detailing procedures, review auto detailing and ceramic coating products, and we have our Wicked Classic Car Episodes weekly where we perform paint correction, ceramic coating and other auto detailing service to classic cars here in Orange County California. If you are a DIY detailing enthusiast and want to learn detailing and coating maintenance for after you receive a professional ceramic coating service then this is a great channel for you! If you are a professional auto detailer looking to improve your auto detailing business and gain business growth, I cover many topics helpful to professional detailing enthusiasts as well. We also do a lot of clear bra (paint protection film) installations and we are some of the first to start using Graphene coating products that entered the Auto Detailing market. Check out all our before and after videos as well!

Have you ever seen factory paint pulled off just under the wrapped edge of a hood? Happened to me recently. The top of the hood and the edge that had the factory paint/clearcoat is fine, but just beyond that under the hood a fair amount of paint came off. It does not show at all, and was an easy repair with touchup paint, but it was surprising for sure.

It looks like you didn't heed the maintenence tips after the install. Like keep your wipers clean and don't use a plastic ice scraper and dont use cleaners that contain ammonia. You know. Things like that. I have had exoshield installed because it is supposed to stop rock chips from becoming large long cracks. If its not for daily drivers, then what's it good for? Why did you have it installed in the first place? Understand, I'm not trying to be an asshole to you. I just want to know because, like I said, i had it installed and i would just like to know if i just threw away 500 dollars. It's gotta be better than the thousands of dollars I have already spent on windshield glass over the past 4 years.

Yeah had similar effect of my Nero Black Maserati, from the information I've been told, the second pass will make it look better/ clearer but it's just because the second compound is sitting ontop filling small surface imperfections and adding gloss to the compound still stuck below which is why it looks like it's been removed. When the car is exposed to a heavy rain run or a mechanical wash the top layer of polish and any sealant/ finishers on top will be removed and the haze is back. Best thing I found to work on the advice of others is after the heavy cut compound stage (one that's hard to remove) use panel wipe - kind of a degreaser. This lifted it out great for me with out adding additional polish on top but is still a bit of a pain in the ass to have to wipe down every work area to get the lacquer back to it's natural state inorder to check the work. Hope this helps 👍

I tried to compound and polish the hood on my BMW E90 LCI with jet black exterior (deep black non-metallic). Man, it sure was a bad day today 😂. I mean, I got swirl marks and the compound sticked a alot to the paint. Also, the wool pad with fine polish left too many swirls. Maybe because I used too much paste and because there were 100 degrees outside.

I was having problems with my wax this morning after compounding and polishing my black Silverado hood. I was using the CG butter wax, and wiping it off pretty quick with a mf towel.
