Hi, my name is Salim and I'm a Graduate Entry Medical Student at Barts and the London.
I've always been somebody who enjoyed learning and improving - I've been teaching myself how to play the piano for over 12 years, taught myself Japanese and got qualified, regularly go gym, and have an Undergraduate and Postgraduate degree - and now I'm a medical student. It's all helped me develop healthy habits and become productive with my time.
So, I share what's helped me over the years to go from the normal guy who struggled to get things done, to now being consistent and having the discipline to be productive and do what's truly good for me - and I hope it can inspire change in you.

Hi Salim, Can you create a productive study schedule for me.. School starts from 7:30 am and ends at 2:30 pm... and i have classes at the evening from 7:45 pm to 10:00 pm...Could you please create a productive study schedule... I am in 10th grade.. P.S - thanks for the anki tip, I've started using it for history... and it's doing great wonders for me. Thanks in advance.
i am so burnout. i study at med school all the daylight, do the final test, then i go to lab and spend more than one hour for my PhD project. Last, i spend all night to make a document report and write a discussion about that.
How much should you exercise daily?
This is different for everybody. It’s also different depending on where you are in your fitness journey and goals.
@@afropunkx i want the average or the maximum plz?😊
How long does it take to reach 600 words, knowing that my current speed is 300?
I'm not you, so the only way to find out is by trying yourself ahaha - i hope the tips help!
@@Salim_Ahmed But only a slight approximation😅
I am in my teens, and aspiring to be an ophthalmologist, what do you think? 🤔 as a med student, I could use your advice...
I am probably one of the most unexpected people to binge-watch your videos. I was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 2021 along with plenty of other chronic conditions and situations (like ataxia and peripheral neuropathy). Because of the slow and unpredictable progression so far, I lost my job, some of my mobility, my previous apartment, and more... But...I'm still a nerd So eventually (and with God's and my family's help), I got back into a new life. I restarted my journey towards a Bachelor's degree (graduating in Aug. 2024) with an online university that was able to adapt to my health issues. I also restarted my learning journey towards A2 level in Spanish (using Duolingo as a starting point), got into machine learning, and started freelancing again. I aim to get a Master's degree in Education, so I can use my technical background and nerdy approach to learning to make education more accessible to people with disabilities. Because of my conditions, I don't have the luxury of the all-nighter cram sessions or the ability to work and study like I used to. I need to maximize any study sessions I have, which is what videos like this help me to do! I appreciate the information because I'm still trying to make amazing with the brain cells I have left!
Unexpected maybe, but exactly the person who I'd want watching my videos! It's always important to have this desire to learn more and focus on self-improvement, so it's great to hear that this is what you're doing! Also, it's never too late to start studying something - i know a med student in the year below me who's 49 years old, and he's glad he came back to study! Wish you all the best and good luck :)
What app or site do you use to make notes where you click and more detailed information appears?

Can someone explain for me what did he say after 4:35, i really appreciate that. Thanks a lot ^^
There's captions you can turn on :)
I already know this but I wanted more speed😂
I have wasted 25 days in my holidays, I am very stressed because I don't want to regret it later. Only 10 days are left. And as an Indian just entering in 11th and physics seems to be tough..... Idk what should I do. Well trying to complete the holiday homework first
im watching this instead of doing my flashcards
Hope you get back to it after!!
Thanks for the tips
No problem! I hope it helps :)
Amazing video. I personally felt attacked on the part you told me summarise the last chapter I read... Learning is indeed different from reading! Gonna learn it ASAP. Thanks for the information in such crisp manner. Take regards, New subscriber!❤
Ahaha it's good to be aware! I hope it helps, and appreciate the support 🙌🏽 hope my videos can continue to help!
Point noted but in India the NEET examination has just shattered the level of trust and will to open the books...I wish my country had quality over quantity in every aspect 😢😢😢
*cries in dyslexic*
😔
Thank you so much. I needed this
You are welcome, i hope it helps!
Just practice it by speeding up youtube with no sound.
And checking through comments ahaha
Already watched
I needed this video to prepare for my upcoming exams, thank you so much❤
Good luck!
Please sir try to upload videos daily I always learn something new daily ❤
Appreciate the support, but i think you massively underestimate just how long it takes to make videos 😅 not to mention doing this alongside med school, gym, and everything else - daily is a lot 😂😅
This works well in general, but even better with poorly written books. Which are a lot. Thanks
For sure ahaha, helps sift through less important info! I hope it helps :)
You looking like rajat patidar
🧐
Failure is the best teacher😅
For sure helps us learn and improve!
I have to keep it in memory not just reading it
Guessing you didn't watch the whole video? I talk specifically about comprehension..
Bro i have found your videos today , and all of them are sooooo helpful, crisp ,concise and to the point, also that you don't use clickbait titles like others , all of your topics are very much useful, Thanks a lot man , keep it up , you're a gem for students ❤
Glad you like them! I try to keep it concise so appreciate the comment 🙌🏽 hope i can continue to put out useful videos :)
Thank you for the Link in the description for a smooth transition to the another helpful video. I know it is your last video before the exam but an idea for later on, can you make a video regarding how to effectively use study materials (books, question banks, chatGPT, anki, note taking apps etc.). Best of luck for the exams, rooting for your success brother.
Ahah i dont remember if you were the one asking for the link to be put in the description or if it was someone else, but glad you appreciate it! Hmm i already have videos on each of those things, but might do a vid in future on a "app system" type video! Thanks for the support!
@@Salim_Ahmed yup it was me!
Does this help if you drop fictional books midway?
Only one way for you to find out
Assalamualaikum. Thank You so much for the tips! I got into the best ' college in my country which has a accaptence rate of 8%( Through admission Test). .tbh this is the Best video KZread have ever suggested!!!!

Even when your life hits a blocade, Google has the world at your feet, knowledge is wisdom that encourages brain, dont become brain dead or complacent 🤗
For sure, a lot can be learnt online!
Which tracker to use? This video is great, by the way! Just need your help, guys, to find a tracker that would work on a kindle. I tried a pencil, there's this strange sound. And the screen is not so wide, so I need to move faster side to side. Any suggestions? Thanks!
You could use your finger ahaha
So how long are you watching thr sppedreed app each day. Just that intro video once ?
No, i dont use the app every day. It was more so to improve baseline reading speed, as i said in the video - so now i read as normal but at a higher speed because of using the app over time. Hope this helps!
Do not feel pressured to get views, even if it's small it helps a lot of students like me.
Well more views = more people that can be helped so it is one of my aims to grow this channel ahaha Also I like the bungou stray dogs profile pic aha
@@Salim_Ahmed Of course. You are doing great, just don't feel demotivated. We'll always support you. And omg you know Bungo Stray Dogs?? Thanks!
I very much appreciate the support, it definitely helps with motivating me to keep it going ❤️🙌🏽 ahaha yeah I've seen all seasons!
"Failure is normal" bang on! You nailed it.
For sure! I hope the video helps 🙌🏽

This seemed like a trading journal reminder. Thank you for this good Sir!
Thank you so much, next year I am going into honors, I am a little nervous but this video helped me recognize what I’m doing wrong in my study routine. Thank you very much 👍
I hope it helps and all the best with your studies!
@@Salim_Ahmed appreciate you replying!
‘Salaam Sir. 2 fails for the first time in 15 years. Needed this. Thank you Sir. Enough is enough.
I hope it helps and good luck with future exams!
By seeing your videos 85 students secured rank 1 in NEET( indian medical entrance test) 🙂
I hope my videos can continue to help 🙌🏽
@@Salim_Ahmed I think its a joke because it's not possible to get rank 1, esp 85 students, but this year they did. It actually controversial because last year only 2 student got rank 1.
Ahaha interesting! I don't know how ranking works for NEET, but for my admissions tests it was different as it's possible for many people to score full marks / close to full
The paper is a fuck up and medical field is now a joke in our country 🙃
Honestly even in the UK medicine is a joke, poor respect for doctors and poor pay / work-life balance. It's just not looking good 😔
It's helpful.....Thank you😊 My final exams will be at the end of next month...All the best for your examinations..
Glad to hear it! Good luck to you too :)
