Quick question, I’ve never really read comics and I’ve been wanting to get into it as a hobby (both for entertainment and collecting), and Hulk is by far my favorite comic book hero so I’ve been wanting to find a good starting point to begin collecting. I know there is like decades of storylines for each character hence why it seems so daunting to me right now. Is there any suggestions you have for where I should start?

Hey good news! I know as of this video you've been waiting 5 years or so for The Ultimate Spiderman Omnibus Vol 2 but the good news is that it finally came out last year! Lmaooooo this vid is kinda old but still helpful. I just started looking into collecting omnis cuz floppy prices are out of control and I really don't think modern books are worth collecting (50 variants per book now right?) so thanks for the vid!

Man I loved the graphic novels, and the first two movies with Ron Perlman. Just needs to stay true to its creators vision, it's accessible.

As much as I'm a Batman guy myself, ALL-STAR SUPERMAN helped me overcome my feelings of self-pity. No comic book has lifted me like Morrison and Quitely's miniseries.

I think what also helps is that the main story for the Hellboy universe already ended a while ago. You really only need to read BPRD and the main Hellboy title to get the full story and you can buy the omnibus volumes for both at a pretty cheap price.

The only thing that hurt this series was marvels insistence on making the tie ins required. Aarons entire thor run, stopping at war of realms, then venom to volume 1 and 2 then venom war of realms (that follows the issue order but for NO reason isn't volume 3). Then you can skip the rest of war of realms, but then you read volume 3 and it leads into absolute carnage (which again isn't a volume number but follows the issue numbers AND THE STORY ISN'T EVEN RESOLVED IN THE VENOM PROPER. then volume 4, 5, then the first issue of volume 6, then the first 3 volumes of a DIFFERENT SERIES that has the same name as the volume you're in the middle of "king in black" then back to the volume for an issue, then finish king in black volume 456, then finally finish VENOM: King in black. And the omnibus does very little to straighten out the story beats. In order to get the entire thing you had to basically read everything marvel month to month in release order for 4 years, and then EVEN THE RELEASE ORDER tells the story out of order at about "venom beyond" And of course all of that goes back into the ultimates which is FINALLY getting fleshed out by hickman (but requires a 1 shot called ultimate universe, a 4 issue "ultimate invasion" and now is currently bouncing back and forth between ultimate: black panther, spiderman, and most recently xmen Meanwhile, you can pick up basically any dc #1 (theres i think 9? Different batman #1s on shelves right now) all with different stories and continuities that use past stories to inform at times but for the most part you csn just pick up whatever looks cool and go through a 4-6 issue arc and be satisfied. The marvel stories are much better and memorable right now, but much more work to get everything out of them DC has just done a much better job this decade at rewarding completionists while still letting hobbyists just pick up anything and not be completely lost.

I understand that their are some pretty big differences but that doesn’t make me wanna stop since it sounds like such a fun story! Also it has gotten me to wanna possibly read h.p lovecraft

Superman has been there for me all my life.He lifted me and kept me strong throughout my darkest times. He's more than just a drawing on paper.Whether it's witnessing domestic violence and alcholism, bullying (though I wasn't a sitting duck,I just tolerated it until it was time to punch them into their cowardly silence), job losses due to covid, and the diagnosis of (a thankfully benign) glioma, and what followed-that (relearning how to use my right side, and having part of my skull removed and a new one put in a few months after due to infection, and currently on my 4th month of oral chemo after 6 weeks of radiotherapy).Despite that I'm doing strong, staying positive, reading everyday, and doing a good amount of physical activity (20 minutes bag and skipping each, and 6 hours of golf (and achieved a 5 hcp despite only playing for 3 years barely if one counts the shutdowns due to covid and not being able to do it much due to treatment!),along with compound movement strength exercises Thank you and others for sharing your stories."It's never as bad as it seems"."Nothing is impossible" As Superman and Christopher Reeve said in two very inspirational books.

Hi I like Hellboy but I’ve never read any comics as the art style looks basic. Is that just one or two comics or do all Hellboy comics look like that basic art style? And I’m not just trying not offend anyone it’s just I love the Hellboy Movies but the comics art kinda put me off that’s all

Been in that dark place too. Contemplated. And contemplated. Took it one day at a time. One moment at a time. And eventually found the light. Looking back, like you and superman said, it wasn't as bad as it seemed. It really isnt. Just take it one day, one moment at a time. God bless.

in total honesty: i've always read manga, so i got used to their way of publishing: if you find issue #1 congrats! you start from there. There surely are some exceptions to this easyness but i haven't stumbled across them yet. So, when i saw the trailer of the film i immediatly thought "now that's a story i would like", but i wanted to read the comics firts, so i searched for the first issue on google and... I think i've understand my math classes better. Sooo thank you for this video! ❤

to note, the reason that the artwork is sometimes low quality is because of the intense weekly crunch for manga release over the years totally ruined Togashi's health. he can no longer sit up straight from drawing manga so much, and is currently updating the manga with new chapters again for the first time in 6 years. many manga artists have died from the intense overwork, such as the author of famous manga Berserk. this is the reason for the lackluster art at times.
