They've had those at carnivals for at least 70 years, but used low pressure air and a much much lower rate of fire. If you could use metal BB's and use oxy propane combustion to increase the velocity and range it could possibly be a useful drone swatter.

Congratulations, you've invented a way to create a continuous (or almost continuous, so far) stream of buckshot. I wonder how long the burst can realistically be sustained. This could be practically interesting for anti-drone air defense.

The delta in shots per minute might not be a difference in shot speed at all, it might just be accuracy of the shot. Have you tested what a grouping of say 10 rounds looks like ?

That is amazing! I need to get a gun like that to combat my squirrels.......they are really fast and sneaky. I might go broke buying BBs. But boy oh boy would they be surprised. I wish to compliment the narrator on his math skills. Accurate or not he was very close. My compliments!

The fact that you're shooting this at 60 FPS is silly. At least use 120 or 240 with a modern GoPro my guy. You can drop the resolution and increase the frames. Worlds fastest gun? Hard to tell with worlds worst camera setup.

Love the idea here. Have you ever taken it up any of the tracks running through the mountains near Felton, up to Boulder Creek/Los Gatos? Obviously, this isn't the best idea in the summer when the Roaring Camp line is active, but I bet it would make a great ride.

You can use a photo sensor and a USB oscilloscope to get to the bottom of why there are intermittent and irregular patterns. Probably when you pull the trigger, there are oscillations in the air flow. A pressure sensor and a USB oscilloscope might show that. If you open the air valve but hold back the BBs, then release them with the trigger, there will still be oscillations, but maybe not as pronounced.

Thank you for covering all the engineering and machining aspects of this. I rode a lot in Santa Cruz and appreciate your travels and the good drone and editing of all the videos. Now you need to add an electric weedeater option on the front cat whiskers for those pesky grass and weeds! We can see the poor quality of the tracks, maintained for coal trains to davenport. They wanted to put a tourist train on them in Capitola / Santa Cruz, what a mistake... I noted when they got people on a train to see they noticed how bad the tracks were for passengers. Your films really show how wavy, rolling and bad shape they are in. The bike really takes it well and those welded ground connections are a real challenge you designed well! I read an article about how we ended up with the width size so strange, it came down to roman road width and the width of two horses butts! Thanks!
