Hi, Bob. First, we really enjoyed hearing you and Bradley Kopp in Horseshoe Bay last week...such a great time! But I hope you can clear up something that's been confusing me. What's the deal with Mickey Raphael being shown as Mickey Raipheld on this LP and on "¡Viva Terlingua!"? When I first saw that, I thought it was a typo, but couldn't figure out how it got past everyone. Was that his professional name for a while?
@renegade.recordsАй бұрын
@@FireAntGazette thanks for mentioning this!! I’ve always wondered if it was another guy that looked just like Raphael or if it was actually Mickey and they misspelled his name. One theory I’ve always had was that, due to him possibly being locked into a record deal with Willie Nelson, maybe he wasn’t legally allowed to appear on anyone else’s recorded albums. As a result, maybe they just misspelled his name to conceal his identity. Would love to hear Cosmic Bob’s take on this, but he still hasn’t responded to my original reply asking for a few stories. Maybe someday he’ll just breeze back in here and drop the answers on us. Until then…
@FireAntGazetteАй бұрын
@@renegade.records That’s a very interesting theory about the contractual implications; I hadn’t considered that. But I have no doubt that it really was Raphael playing harp on ¡Viva Terlingua!…there are just too many corroborating accounts by different players.
