We’re in agreement that 24MP is more than enough. I was producing beautiful 11x14 prints with my 6MP Nikon D100 in the early 2000s. It’s a shame that everything is ending up on phone screens, but those 24MP RAW files will be good to have in your archive for when we move past this era of Insta. I guarantee you that the AI advancements between now and then will easily be able to double your resolution without any loss.

While I do appreciate you making a video with a camera I'm thinking of buying, I have to say it was quite a pain seeing your style of taking photos. There's quite a difference in taking a photo and making one. Spray and Pray couldn't be more far from the process of making art/streetphotography for me. Curiously the only photo I consider quite good, with a subject and story is the one you considered cluttered and out-of-focus - the man smoking, alone, wrinkes in the face and hands sharing the same look with the other two sitting alone. Human loneliness for me. Anyhow, instead of the other "fast food youtuber" you suggested, I suggest you seeing what Adrien Sanguinetti has done with the same camera. I wish you all the best.

I feel you 1000% on LA being a bit stale creatively. I lived in nyc last year for 3 months and just those 3 months alone had me feeling like there was a sense of belonging. just being around others in a city is enough to keep me energized. Amazing video and great story

I mostly shot JPEG, the cameras are great, could preview every shot on the LCD, much easier to take great photos than the film era. without LR or PS

As photographs, it's almost impossible to compare because both have a unique look to them. But I'm sure many people will agree with me that film is much more flattering to the model, because it doesn't show as much "imperfect" detail. Although it can be said that it is precisely the imperfections that make a person beautiful, I myself would much rather have my portraits taken on film for this reason. I'd like to see the digital MF go against a true medium format film camera (at least 6x7) with low ISO film, scanned in a drum scanner. I think in that case the digital might lose out in the detail department too.

Such a cool video Chris, really inspirational. Thanks for talking through your methodology, I respect your approach to photojournalism, too many folks are just intrusive. Side note, I did 1-8th grade at a school two blocks from here and passed by this court everyday, so this neighborhood means a lot to me!

I bought a Canon FD 28mm F2.8 aweek ago. I'm having a terrible time with infinity focus. I'm using a Pholsy FD to RF adaptor. I used both F8 and F16 Zone Focusing. I had no luck. Even with focus peaking the distant objects were not in focus. I even tried focusing directly to infinity using focus peaking. These are also out of focus even though they show the red halo on distant objects. I'm I doing something wrong? Or is this simply an issue with the lense I bought?

I used 'Blads (500C/M, 500 ELX, SWC/M) for decades throughout my professional career. I used both 120 & 220 film. I always had a strap on my camera, and that was always around my neck, unless the camera was on a tripod or a studio-stand. I always used a lens hood, the bellows hoods are particularly good. Focusing can be quick with a quick-focus handle. To minimise shake the rear body shutter and mirror can be pre-released so that the shutter release button, or cable release, only triggers the lens shutter. To compare 6x6 and 35mm focal lengths for a 10"x8" print, the ratio is 11:6, so a 50mm lens roughly equates to a 28mm lens.

At last !!! Someone who really explains and give examples of a photo storytelling 😎. I am tired of people talking about storytelling in photos but they doesn’t accept that NOT EVERY PHOTO TELLS A STORY🤨 Like you said, it has to be intentionally taken in some specific way as to tell the freaking story !!! Thank You very much 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Great and Honest Review!! For me 24mp is more than enough. I own Fuji XT2 and love it ever since. I Don't need more MP than that. Most people always want New things releases that they Don't freaking need it (Q2 and now Q3 to Q10 later on). In their mind they think NEW it's Better.😅

it's called RANGE FOCUSING. Zone focusing is not a thing. Someone confusaed it with the zone system -- Ansel Adam's technique, to determine the correct exposure.
