Remember coming home unexpectedly after a year away overseas in the Navy. I wanted to surprise the family, so I didn't tell anyone. When I got there, everyone was gone -- they'd gone on vacation. Spent the days of leave I had in the empty house, then caught a flight back to my base. It was kind of sad.
Plan your surprise better next time....you need to at least tell someone.
@@etrnlygr8tful No argument with that. I can think of several family friends I could have had go by to check. It never occurred to me that the family might not be home. Oh well -- next time.
