    Well, 6 yrs. after opening this "Made in Manitoba rapid transit" (read el cheapo) the roadway is already failing and needs replacing. IF Winnipeg had built a proper rapid transit line, made of steel rails and rail bed, that wold have lasted a lot longer before needing heavy maint. What a failure! What a waste of taxpayers money. What a boondoggle!

    This is not compaction but it is drum ringing, the sound of the drum gives a sign that the aggregate is about to get crushed by the vibrating drum.

    Why does the one have flaps?

  • @FIVEOHSIXER
    @FIVEOHSIXER9 жыл бұрын

    Addy Pr i think by flaps you mean the scrapper on the drum of the roller, wich is literally just to scrap debris of the drum so it isnt brought on to the new matte

  • @budlight40ish
    @budlight40ish8 жыл бұрын

    +Addy Pr I think the Cat has the flaps on the sides and front to contain the water spray it uses to keep the drum wet so the asphalt does not stick to it

    I believe they are doing half of the road first and moving traffic to one side finishing that side and moving over the traffic to the other side and finishing the other side. It cannot be done all in one swap. Not an IC limitation, just the why it is normally done on existing roadways

    @kjkjg1 They are different rollers with different weights, wheel configurations, and operational settings. The local vendor has had success using the three-wheel Dynapac roller at the break-down position with the HMA surface course. Therefore, the Sakai IC roller was used as the intermediate roller instead.

    2) continued...... So I never did have to refer to my manager or anyone else. It's called self reliance I suppose, but, it means you are totally in control all the time, knowing if you were not, all production would grind to a halt! Not saying I know best at all, just that I could not, as a Manager, ever feel I accomplished anything if it was down to asking the over-all Factory Manager every time I was about to get stuck. Really good set of video's these! mrbluenun

    1) Good on the girl, showing the men how to do something relatively simple, but what would they have done without her? I always imagine what if I was alone as I worked what would I do if?............ That way you tend to find out before you do anything what is expected and how to do it etc, that way, I was always prepared, and knew what I was doing, and could plan my days and weeks work accordingly.
