This guy has no idea what he’s talking about You need 180 days of seatime not 365 You can use 90 days of deck work towards QMED rating (any) as long as the deck experience is being applied to an unlicensed endorsement You go to a regional exam center which are in most coastal states if not all to take the test; unless you take a course which will give you the endorsement of QMED

@@SlumpedBrandon So with 60 days of engine room time plus a QMED course USCG approved and 90 days of deck time: you can get your QMED-Oiler endorsement but not your QMED-Any endorsement. But QMEDs are currently in high demand so it will still greatly benefit you. You should apply to Cook Inlet Tug and Barge for their Prudhoe Bay season. They pay $550 a day for QMEDs. Season is runs from July to October.

Good video bro, I'm getting into maritime soon but still can't decide whether to go deck or engine. Kinda inclined to go engine more though. Do you like it there? Also I heard if you wanna become an engineer then you have to be good at calculus and physics, that true? Cause my math don't be mathing 80% of the time 😂

Deck is more laborious work most of the time not necessary hard but engineering is more complex and has its busy moments, if you're mechanically inclined go engine don't need calc or physics just basic understanding of engineering concepts such as thermodynamics . Good luck

The parts sites all list it as "canister assembly", and price it at $200, which is roughly what I'd expect that charcoal box to cost.

yea i would get electrical certs on land then apply as an electrician cause that way you could work on land or on a ship. You could still get your qmed with a Electrician rating if you wanted cause it will look good and will be easy for you too cause of your previous training but you could get hired without it

i wouldn't worry about it just get your stcw so you don't end up on a riverboat, the i made the lower end as a wiper 5k and it sucked but it motivated me to get my qmed fast and i did. It really depends on the size of ship cause the ship size will in a way be proportional to your duties but msc you would def get paid more and the wiper on my current ship is making the top end and more with OT so just pick the right ship/ company

For fixing smaller parts, most parts from the Hyundai Elantra of the Tiburon’s time are compatible. They were built upon to same platform. Unless you’re boosting of course

Swap the motor with a 2.0 16 valve turbo 5 speed transmission then you won't have problem's again

Ill agree of cheap plastics on wire connectirs. I broke 3 fuel injector plugs. I pushed the release tab, and it snapped. The shroud on my ac pump plug fell apart too, so just bare pigtails. The plastic wire looms all disintegrated when moving them out of the way to pull the motor and trans

I agree, all these new extra sensors that newer models have will be convenient until they all start going out. It will be more things to diagnose a sensor, ecu signal or mechanical or hardware problem.

@@slumpedboyb Or like stability control. I used to have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata automatic and the stability control kept malfunctioning. I couldn't turn it off. The car kept braking automatically and one time the brakes just locked up while I was driving at high speed. It can be really dangerous and also hard on the transmission.
