Can you also discuss working opportunities for students in pecs?
I got admission in pecs uni in BS biotechnology ..and also got SCYP scholarship. I'm very excited but will u plz guide me what the weather is there bcz I'm coming from Pakistan 🇵🇰.
Could you please say something about part time job opportunities to fund my expenses?
jobs bro . jobs ... is there any jobs? how much do they pay?
Dr , I am from pakistan , I got acceptance from pecs uni in Physiotherapy but please also male video on work in pecs city or near ?
hey, what do you think of the university of szeged. is it as good as pecs
Hey, it is very similar in ranking with the University of Pécs so there isn’t much difference. Szeged is a little bit more known for their practical involvement (from what I have heard) but I can’t confirm as I haven’t studied there. Pécs is a little more known for a tough and volume heavy theoretical focus in the first 2 years…at the end of it all, I think you come out of both institutions with a relatively similar standing.

Hi 👋🏻@CamMedLife I have recently graduated from a Uni here in South Africa and wanted to go do medicine , so i am writing my entrance exam for the uni of Debrechen in 4 days. I just wanted to ask if it's worth it so far for you? As a South African, what are your worries ? And any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏 As ek in kom en ek is daar dan kan ons saam *BRAAI* 😂 Thanks
Hey! Good luck on the upcoming entrance exam! Overall it is definitely worth it for me. I don’t know if I would have been given the opportunity to graduate as a doctor in many other countries and so I’m grateful to Hungary. It definitely isn’t perfect, the system is very different and I personally feel like the Uni is very theoretically orientated and doesn’t focus as much on the practical application of our knowledge in a clinical setting. There are also maybe a few more complaints here and there…That being said, every place has its problems. In the end, it’s manageable and you do come out with a lot of knowledge plus the degree which is most important. If you would like advice on anything specifically then feel free to reach out! Haha, ń Braai sal lekker wees! 😂
@CamMedLife Hey, thanks for the response I do have good news. I got accepted 🥳 As such, I do have a lot of questions. Do you mind if I just dm you on Instagram?
Watching from the US.
make a video on cost of study in hungary
Will try my best, finishing up my current exam period and then I plan to start posting again
good information! cheers
Please dont stop making this type of content🙏 its litterally lifesaving
I appreciate the feedback thank you, I hope to start posting again in the near future.
Hi, Cam! Which dormitory is nearest to the faculty of engineering and information technology? Im from the Philippines!
Hey, Boszorkány will be the closest but it is a small city and it’s easy to get around so if you going the dormitory route I would still recommend Szántó Dormitory as a first choice.

great vid, tbh no need to emphasize on how it's too much information or video is being dragged or stuff like that, it's your video - you do you man, also people who don't want to listen would either skip or just move on to another video no big deal
I have applied for stipendium scholarship and have been accepted by tge University. I'm waiting for tempus. I'm from Nigeria
Congratulations!! 🎉👏🏻
Does pecs offer dormitories and a cafeteria which provides meals 3x a day so we don’t need to cook our own food? 😭
There are multiple dormitories yes, 5 in total but I only really recommend Szántó Dormitory. I was there in first semester and it was nice to meet people and settle in a bit but in all the dorms, you have roommates in the same room so it isn’t feasible long term for medical students (in my opinion). There is a cafeteria at the university but it isn’t like a uni in the US where you get a food card or vouchers and stuff included. You would have to pay for each meal. Hope this helps!
@@CamMedLife thank you so much
No ways I am planning to study medicine in Hungary and just stumbled across your video, and immediately picked up your SA accent 😂. I live in Botswana 🇧🇼. Glad to know there will be other Africans in Hungary. Do you think you have received a good educational experience in Hungary?
Haha, the accent is hard to miss if you know it. 😂 I have to be completely honest with you, some of the classes are good but a lot of self-teaching is needed too. The language barrier plays a factor because a lot of professors (mainly in lectures - most of which you don’t need to go to) struggle to vary tone and make it interesting in English. Additionally, the Uni has a massive focus on theory and very little focus on practical skills which can be frustrating. That being said, it is an option…the degree opens doors post-graduation even if it means you need transfer exams for certain countries and the practical skills can be made up in residency (just going to make it harder).
Your videos help alot i am interested but a bit hesitant because i saw the timetable and the school last from 10 to 8pm at night. I am the kind of person who can't take this must lectures and prefer self study so i wanted to ask that can we Skip the lectures and dedcate that time to self study and only attend the practical classes and is the attendance necessary??
You can actually skip most lectures, or discuss with a group of friends that you will take turns attending and write each other up on the attendance list. I know VERY few people who actually attend every lecture. I attended maybe 5-10 in this YEAR total. And we have about 8-10 a WEEK. Practical classes are the opposite, attending is an absolute MUST, sometimes you can’t even skip a class if you are sick with a fever.
But how often a student get failed as I have heard that many students don't even pass the exams and the first two years you don't even get the time to have a social life is it true
@@alice.3509 please answer the next question 🥺
I believe the first question has been answered correctly and for your second question: it can be true based on stories from some but I also know of many people who have got though the first 2 years without failing and managed to stay on track. Some semesters in the first 2 years make it a bit challenging for having an active social life but if you good at studying a bit throughout the semester then you can always make time. Its all up to you at the end of the day, don’t read into the stories too much

Hello I think to come here with Erasmus programme for general medicine in 4th year from Romania, do you guys recommend it do they pretend same to Erasmus students or it’ll be a bit easier ? I’ll be really happy if I get your opinion also Cam
Quite a few of the Erasmus students we get here in the general medicine program seem to fine. Often times they have less classes than us because they have a slightly different curriculum and only need some of our classes to stay on track within their program. I can’t say much more though unfortunately as I’m speaking from an outsiders perspective.
Hi brother .I want to ask that is Biotechnology a good subject to study in Hungary?
Hey man, I wish I could give you a definitive answer to this question but unfortunately I don’t know and I don’t want to make something up.
@@CamMedLife Hi bro today I got offer letter from University of Debrecen in Biotechnology.
@@mansur_siam_Congratulations!!
This is what I really needed, thanks! I’m from Kazakhstan and I wait for university decision. I’m confused where should I study (my major is architecture), because I also consider Hong Kong and Hertfordshire, UK. So, yeah, this video was a great help for me
3:18 You were definitely sleeping 😖😁🤣🤣🤣
You mentioned that your mother tongue is Afrikaans. I'd like to ask which language is easier for you to learn, English or German? I'm just curious because all of them are Germanic languages. :)
Hey, my mother tongue is actually English but I learnt Afrikaans in school. So unfortunately I can’t answer this question but I did do a few weeks of German lessons last year and I definitely noticed that Afrikaans and English make use of similar vocabulary. The pronunciation was just a problem for me.
@@CamMedLife Oh, sorry! You mentioned Afrikaans in the video and that's why I thought it was your mother tongue. Anyway, thanks for the answer! :)
@@janosvarga4401 Of course, no worries!
Hey what about the IT job opportunities after graduating in a university in budapest .
Hey, unfortunately I’m not sure about this. I wouldn’t want to give you the wrong information
I could hear your accent you South African....
I am indeed
Hey,just saw this vid, I just hate this frustrating bad country just getting money as a scam way!!!#hate here!
After graduating from pecs or any other medical university of hungary do we have to give a licensing exam to practice in europe like are you all exempted from plab in uk ?? Can you just direct start practicing anywhere withou licensing exam?
You do not need additional exams anywhere in Europe. The UK is a bit different due to Brexit…if you an EU citizen, you don’t need to sit the PLAB exam after graduating. If you a non-EU citizen, then you will have to sit the PLAB exam.
I heard that in semmelweis you are exempted from plab even if you are non eu citizen like pakistan india or bangladesh
@@maqsoodurrehman8182 That may be the case, Semmelweis is the highest ranked in Hungary. The information I provided was based on Pécs and probably applies to the other 2 as well.
Can you please make a comparsion between szeged ,debrecen, semmelweis and pecs university like a podcast or something and tell us about which university is less stressful regarding medicine
Someone else asked this and I will see what I can do. I don’t have much information about Semmelweis and Debrecen at the moment but will look into it.
@@CamMedLife many people are looking forward to it thanks ✨
Which med school in hungary is not as much exhausting as pecs because as you told i assume that studying at pecs is quiet exhausting and please can you make a comparison video about the 4 med schools in Hungary as it would give the future medical students a good idea about what to expect and yeah love your content and dedication towards medicine ✨
It is really difficult to say because each university will have certain courses that are more difficult than other universities. I have heard that Szeged has a more chill first couple of years though. Pécs becomes more relaxed from third year onwards (even though the workload is still high). Thank you for the video suggestion, I need to see if I can talk to some people from Debrecen and Semmelweis to get more information though. Appreciate the kind words!
I just finished a course in functional anatomy and I must say that I admire you for your perseverance! There's just too much to study in detail. (I am not a medical student btw). Glad to see you back on KZread!
Thank you for your kind words, I appreciate it! Well done on finishing your course!
Great video man. Please could you be able to make like a full day in the life in pecs? Curious to see how living is over there. Thanks.
Thank you, I appreciate it! I will aim to do that during the upcoming semester. 💪🏻
I studied medicine in Pécs for one year and I hated it so much, luckily I passed the entrance exam in Austria and could continue my studies there.
The first 2 years are rough here. I’m glad you managed to find an alternative though, congrats!
Hi Cam i hope you are well i applied to the University of pécs to study a masters degree in business development and management and leadership i would like to ask you whether these two programs have an entrance exam and what type of questions usually get asked in the entrance exam. Thank You very much
Hey, I’m not entirely sure unfortunately as I mostly interact with medical students. However, check out this link and hopefully it helps: international.pte.hu/admission/entry-requirements
Hello. I'm from Honduras and I am evaluating many things before deciding which university in Hungary I will like to study my masters degree.
Awesome! I hope everything works out!
Can you please tell about the passing grades ?
It depends on the exam. In oral exams, the grade is determined subjectively by the examiner based on performance on a scale of 1-5. 1 being a fail, 2 being a pass, and higher numbers equating to higher grades. In written exams, the passing grade is determined for each exam, you usually need to achieve around 60% but it can vary.
And is university of szeged easier than pecs in tems of exams and studies?
The rumours circulating around Hungary make me want to say yes, at least for the first 2 years. The system is quite gruelling in Pécs in the first 2 years as there are a lot of subjects that are high demanding. Each University comes with its difficulties though.
I have heard that after graduation from semmelweis you dont have to give plab and you can directly apply for jobs is it same for pecs ?
Its all accredited unis in europe But its very difficult to get into uk tbh, start your paperwork as early as you cn
Do you have to give plab after graduation or will you be already licensed and can practice in uk without plab?
Hey, if you are an EU citizen graduating from Pécs then you will not need to sit the PLAB examinations to register in the UK. However, if you are a non-EU citizen, you will need to take the exam to be able to register with the GMC.
hasnt uk started the ukmla thing? I heard that all EU graduates must also write it
@@No-tk4sf I have heard that this will come into action from 2026 but not entirely sure. Unfortunately it does mean that there will be an extra step to transfer then but at least the pathway is still open.
What about the holidays here in pecs do you get summer holidays and what is the duration??
We get 1 week off between 1st and 2nd semester (usually a few days in January and the 1st week of February) and then we get about 2 and a half months off in the summer. There are factors that can influence this though. With the exam periods being 7 weeks, you can prolong your holiday if you finish your exams quickly as you will have the rest of the exam period off. Then in the summer, we usually have some form of Summer Practice in the hospital which is around 4 weeks and that cuts down on the holiday. Usually my breaks look like this: I take 1 week off in the middle of the December exam period and travel over Christmas. Then I usually finish with some time to spare as well and get around 3 weeks off after my exams. In the summer, I usually finish with about 2-3 weeks to spare in the exam period so I travel within Europe during that time and then come back for summer practice in July. The whole of August is then a holiday after that.
Can you please do a video in which you invite students from pecs, szeged, debrecen and semmelweis university and then you talk about differences and about campus and city life as I'm really confused which one to choose btw love your content✨🤌
Hey, when my current exam period is done I will see what I can do but it might be quite difficult to achieve. Thank you for the feedback though and I’m looking forward to having a break where I can reset and start posting content again.
Need more vid information of pecs like this! Ty! You've been such a help and i'm waiting for my interview admissions!
Thank you and good luck!
Hi Cam. Do you think it's easier to get into Dentistry over Medicine at Pecs or any other university in Hungary?
Hey, I can’t say for sure. I’m not aware of the statistics but I would assume that the difficulty is quite similar for both
@@CamMedLife oh I see. Thank you
i'm applying. i really want to get the scholarship 🥺🥺

could you tell me how you studied for your entrance exam please, greatly appreciated
I was fortunately granted exemption so I didn’t take the entrance exam
how come? what are the requirements?@@CamMedLife
Hi! Your video was helpful. I am from Nigeria. I am planning on applying for Mass media and communication Bsc, hope the University of Pecs is the right place to study this course?
Hey, unfortunately I don’t know anything about that course in Pécs but I hope everything does work out! 🙏🏻
How much is summer break in university of pecs ?
Around 3 months and medical students usually have about 2 months.
