    Thanks for watching! I don't even want to know! 😂 in the beginning I had every price detailed but it was hard when Daniel was also buying and receipts were not kept so we gave up.. but not including the annexe and awning maybe $11,000 I'm not sure.. the big things were the air con, hot water system, flooring, solar, batteries and the wall panels etc plus all the small bits and bobs really added up! Don't regret it though.. in the long run now having a bathroom we don't have to stay at caravan parks anymore we love free camps in the bush so we should save money over the years by that! Not sure on the professional cost but a hell of a lot more than that!!

  • @fcdfishingcaravandogs
    @fcdfishingcaravandogs8 ай бұрын

    Hey! Thanks for watching. Do you mean when we were cutting them or just now in living in van? Cutting them, yes it was slightly more tricky. Since this video we have re panelled the outside of our van which will be uploaded soon and we got new windows which in turn meant we had to re panel the inside as windows were smaller than what we had so inside walls we used thr panels again.. I found when I used the renovator tool or the jigsaw tool to cut the panels it was much easier and could control your cut much easier.. I would just always suggest that where you install the panel, there is always a slight gap around any edge to allow it it to move slightly to reduce the chance of them cracking once glued up.. we siliconed all the edges so you can't see the gap but I do think this helped alot!!

The care of our animals was our main concern and didn't want their pads being too hot as that's where they sweat and cool themselves down from. The dogs are wet from a swim in a little billabong. The park owners did not mind as there were no water restrictions. I think the park was more happy we were staying for a few nights stay as it was very dead in the area being so warm. Hi Tracey! Sorry for the delay in replying!! I think it is very dependant on what you're doing with your van! Ours was around 8 or 9 thousand but we purchased through covid so things were extremely overpriced.. this doesn't include our annexe/awning though too. We were lucky and our exterior didn't need any work so that saved us a bit in cost too!

    Hey, thanks for making this video. I'm in the middle of renovating our caravan and have loved watching your series and has given me some great ideas. Just ine question, where will you be purchasing your new windows from and will you be installing them yourselves?

    Thanks so much! Glad we have helped a few people with ideas! Hope your reno turns out great! 99% sure we are doing it ourselves. We've seen a few videos on how and doesn't look too crazy (fingers crossed) we've seen a few on ebay and some rv and caravan camping sites. We havnt bought these yet though!

    Great series you have given us so many ideas and tips for our own reno 😊 can I ask where did you get the vinyl for the bench tops ? And how are you finding it holding up?

    Unfortunately it was a place online that closed down :( I did find another that was similar if I think of the name I will send to you! I'm hoping to do the full tour and review of everything soon. I'm sick at the moment so have no voice to film it! But hold off on the vinyl lol it's in the regret list! 😂

    @mrszoewatson I definitely didn't regret the floor vinyl!! It is absolutely amazing, love it and the colour, easy to clean has no rippled or moved at all!... only regret using the vinyl adhesive film on the benchtop in kitchen as it bubbled!

    Another thing You can do also for more clearance . You move the axle from its current position on top of springs and put it under springs , this gives you another few inches of clearance. This will not affect caravan handling / stability at all . I have seen it done many times before.

    I don't even want to know! 😂 in the beginning I had every price detailed but it was hard when Daniel was also buying and receipts were not kept so we gave up.. but not including the annexe and awning maybe $11,000 or $12,000 I'm not sure.. the big things were the air con, hot water system, flooring, solar, batteries and the wall panels etc plus all the small bits and bobs really added up! Don't regret it though.. in the long run now having a bathroom we don't have to stay at caravan parks anymore we love free camps in the bush so we should save money over the years by that!

    @@fcdfishingcaravandogs yeah that's it, caravan parks and even the hipcamps have just gone so greedy with their prices. I love in NSW and the problem here is not many free camps that I know of, and if there is any they are not real good... Qld are spoilt for them and the locations are breathtaking

    So sorry for delay in replying! We just realised there were some comments hidden on a setting on our youtube so sorry about that!! We love alot of the state forests in nsw and also VIC has a few free camps we have loved.. unfortunately for us having dogs a few of the state forests in NSW have turned into conservation areas so you cannot bring dogs.. which is a shame for people who do take care of the areas and keep dogs under control. Sometimes it's the lazy people who ruin it for the good ones. But I guess it forces us to go out a travel and find more amazing places!
