Great synth! And what do you think about Korg Minilogue?
@VultureCulture4 сағат бұрын
Minilogue XD with 4 voices, hybrid architecture, incredible fx, is one of my highest recommended synthesizers. Doesn't really sound like a Polysix but can sound really warm and analog.

I used a Poly800 back in the 80s and only because it was the cheapest synth that could play chords. I could hear it sounded thin and uninteresting compared to the kit-built monosynth I was also using - far better.

Nice video covering a lot of what it can do. I'm keen to get one. You can set the velocity to respond differently to each of the 4 DCOs, so that's where you could get some expression I think - combined with velocity set to control the filter. A looped pattern with gradually increasing velocity values could work well. But yeah - unsurprising you sold it - It's no D50 or Wavestation :)

@@VultureCulture This one was around that price. I know what's going to happen if I bought the hardware; I spend the money, control it through Jupiter-X for a few sounds, it takes up real estate, collects dust, and thats about it, or spend 1/10th the price for 90% of the accuracy, plus the ability to take ot to levels beyond the hardware with layering. Don't get me wrong, I love and own some analog gear, but I've also curbed my GAS by being a realist. I couldn’t watch the whole livestream due to connection issues, but this synth sounds Heavenly! I’m new to synths and sound design, with Sylenth being my only VST experience. I had no idea they could sound this good. This is definitely on my radar! Can you do a video on Sylenth and if it can sound like this?
@VultureCultureКүн бұрын
Sylenth, while a fabulous software synth, isn't going to sound this analog. I don't think Sylenth can do PWM? So this is going to be in a different league than that plugin for analog sounds. However, Sylenth does Virus-type stuff phenomenally.

I think the confusion is that, in this case, a 'Live Review' doesn't mean a 'Live Performance'. It is simply a demonstration for musicians who want to hear the synth before they buy it. We want to hear the raw tone of the oscillators & filter & how they react with the FX. We don't want to hear someone else play a 'Live Performance' as we will be imagining how it will integrate with our own performance needs
