    Asphalt is fun, too, Dragos. Best part is being with friends, anyway. And let the good times roll. I should have been in Krkonose at the Czech/Polish border this long weekend with the Tuono V4, but we had heavy thunderstorms. After 90 km in the wet I decided against the tour, my friends went to ride on. First time in a long time that I freaked out. But then they're back to normal life after the tour, while I'm on my way to Croatia. Last ride for the old Transalp 600. Next time in Romania I'll take the CRF 300 L, light and agile, as you know. A joy to ride. Enjoy your tours, Günter/Nürnberg

    AN IMPORTANT INFO I HAVE FOR YOU. It seems that the 65mm screw that I was mentioning at the end of the video is actually working. So the provided screw of 65 mm is the correct one. I have this info from the owner of the Twin Pegs who installed it on an ktm 890 recently. For the moment I will only pin this comment here as info. I will test that lenght on my own bike to see where was my mistake, and after that, I will edit de video acordingly ! SO remember, the 65mm screw is OK

  • @DragosRDS
    @DragosRDS2 ай бұрын

    Multumesc de vizualizare. Sunt diferite. Pe cel original il intinde presiunea de ulei. Pe acesta, il intinde arcul. Cand pui capacul peste arc, arcul impinge cilindrul pe patina. Daca din vreun motiv anume lantul devine mai slab patina este tot pe el pentru ca arcul este in compresie.

    incredibly dubious idea. let me explain. a) you won't be able to drop your heel going downhill or when making an aggressive hip movement back-to-front or front-to-back (jumping obstacles, leveling the bike in air). simply put, it inhibits your range of motion thus reducing control over the bike. this makes it incompatible with aggressive offroading. b) it appears to be lower than stock/rally pegs. so if you stand on it, your foot isn't level. so you will have more strain on your calves when riding standing in a relaxed position (e.g. on a relatively good road when you are not in an "attack" position). so it's not very useful for chill adventure rides with long days on the road. c) your boot sole is very stiff if you are riding in enduro boot (which you should be!), or even in a good adventure boot. it's literally a sheet of metal inside. in a boot with stiff sole, it really doesn't matter that you have only one point of support - your foot puts pressure on the sole, and you won't be able to feel the load distributed over wider area because its not your squishy feet contacting the peg, it's the sole. you will see it for yourself of course; i've tried a similar product before and unless i was wearing streetware or touring boots, i couldn't tell the difference in terms of pressure. here's an experiment: try to stand on sharp big gravel. then stand on smooth asphalt. can you feel the difference, does the gravel feel "sharp" while wearing the boot? no, it feels exactly the same, because the sole distributes the load. in fact, i also used to feel tired after long time standing up when i started offloading in my street riding boot - then i changed to sg12 and immediately i could stay standing on the pegs like i was standing on level ground. that said, for my 790r i prefer ktm rally pegs instead of the enduro pegs (like on my enduro bike), because wider peg means the foot doesn't "slip off", it feels more stable and planted. the tradeoff is that the pegs stick out more, so it's easier to get them to catch on rocks/brush/deep rut. which is why enduro peg is small - but you can still comfortably stand on it all day, it's only when you move about that your foot can slip a bit. instead, i recommend you check out australian steg pegz. they are much less intrusive, yet help you take some strain from your leg & arm muscles. i find them helpful for both aggressive offroading as well as chill riding. oh and rally pegs if you don't have them are excellent!

  • @EugeneYunak
    @EugeneYunak2 ай бұрын

    by the way, bar risers are also a double-edged sword. i took mine off once i learned proper body position and built proper enduro skills. check out Chris Birch's course for adv riders for example. i concede that they make chill riding standing more comfortable if you are really lazy. but tbh once you get accustomed to good body position and build a little bit of muscle - it's easy to ride all day long on medium trails (here in Western Ukraine we have very similar terrain to Romania). when you are standing in a chill position, like a bmw meercat, you aren't really adding much control over the bike. the only benefit you actually gain is visibility, and stretching your legs. might as well sit down more often. without a bar riser, you assume a proper attack position and become much more stable and in control, ready for any terrain. and again, it's really not hard to maintain this position, you get tired by wrestling a heavy adv bike, not by simply standing with your legs slightly bent and your hips rolled back - it's actually surprisingly comfortable. try it for yourself on a highway - i bet you can easily stand like that for an hour no problem.

    Hello Eugene. I simply have 0 experience with the twin pegs on board. I will test them this summer and tell my opinion abot them. And I will test all of the mentioned scenarios, we will see. Although you are right about whearing enduro/cross boots when making enduro/cross riding, in reality Adventure riding is something else. There is a plethora of market accesories for travel riding the so called "adventure riding". And people almost 10 out of 10 when making an adventure trip are not taking enduro boots. Because it is simply a different scenario. The bar risers, maybe in fact there is no need of them, but again not everybody is Chris Birch 😀 and the reality is that if you look on adventure bikes, 8 maybe 9 out of 10 have them. It just was a comparison to point out the potential this pegs might have. I tell you this. No matter the conclusion I might have at the end of this summer, I will have a video about it, and then we will see. Thank you for your points, it is so interesting to have cool debates !
