I do agree that Tali is my favorite romance, but have you tried Jack? I just did recently and it hits different. I think her romance goes quite well with the theme of your video too. In ME3, especially the Citadel DLC it's reassuring her she hasn't and won't ever lose you. While I know that makes her sound really needy, it's done in a beautiful way.

Good analysis, bad conclusion. You tried way too hard to pull Mass Effect into one specific conclusion, and that took away from the video. In a way - trying to force it like this, you succumbed to the same plague as the Mass Effect 3 developers. Not all your words need to be deep or resonating. Only some do.

The players who are disappointed that they didn't get the happy ending where Shepard and all organics and synthetics live in peace and harmony are the same players who check the internet forums for the consequences of their decisions before making them, in search of the fairy tale ending, and were disappointed that it didn't exist. Throughout the game I felt that the odds of success were close to zero. Saving everyone was never an option. Sure, you were in many ways superhuman, but you were also standing on the shoulders of trillions that came before you throughout countless cycles, each failing to defeat the reapers, only adding a small contribution to the advancement of the crucible. So many gave their lives, and in the end you would too, because like Mordin it had to be you. You say that in the end, the reapers don't match the lore. The reapers were presented as godlike early on, but in the end you defeat them. The only way this is possible is if they weren't truly gods, but instead just another flawed being with an imperfect solution. Maybe they came to believe they were gods because they had never been truly challenged, or maybe we choose to accept them as gods because they said they were, and in some way we wanted them to be, so that in the end we wouldn't have to make the final decision ourselves. You can destroy the reapers and synthetic life and let organic life progress again as it wishes, entrusting humanity and the other advanced alien races might get it right with a second chance. But you're left with the uneasy feeling that this had never worked before and will only increase suffering as organic and synthetic life will inevitably destroy itself, probably along with additional collateral damage to less advanced life. If you think you can do better than the Ancient AI's solution, you can choose to control the Reapers by taking the place of the ancient AI god. But you're told by ancient AI that many other solutions were tried and had failed. You're left with the uneasy feeling that perhaps the reapers weren't evil, but were given an impossible task. You can create an ever lasting peace through Synthesis by creating some sort of utopia where all organics and synthetics live in harmony, but this feels forced upon the galaxy at your will and you're left with the uneasy feeling that you're not really saving anyone, but making them in to something else entirely new. All the choices made me uneasy, but that's the point. The decision was bigger than we had planned for, and what could possibly be the perfect decision. I don't think there is one. All you can do is try to make the best decision, and live with the consequences. That's a theme throughout the game. The consequences of your actions are unknown over time. I'm good with that. Well, at least until Mass Effect 5 comes out. Can't believe I watched this for 2 hours, but it was well done. I know I have little company as someone who liked the ending.

Hey Chris! I call you Chris because I'm also called Chris. Man, I have to tell you, I was so close to finally going full bai lan, I mean I had almost reached it, I almost finished Resignation. And then Natalie came along and then Hidetaka and hbomb and Elvanse and Jesus and bread and futa and shaun and Todd Howard who just works and Claude and everybody and they fooled me into realizing the value of being alive and I lost all my progress and then...you come along too! With your stupid awesome channel. Your vids, man, they're really something else! And then you give me hope of all things. What am I supposed to do with hope? I don't know how to operate this shit! What am I supposed to do now? Declare you my personal hero? Try to become a ytber? Dream of becoming maybe a tenth as good as you one day? Ok, you know what? Screw it! I'm going to become a ytber now and it's your fault!

Political ideological dogmas are not going to solve anyones mental health issues. Neither the left nor the right nor feminism have the answers because each person has their own unique experience and as such, a one sized dogma fits all approach is always going to fail here Chris. Also hard left idealogy, 3rd wave feminism and misogynistic far right manosphere bullshit are all corrosive beliefs systems.

7:06 I think the actual solution is for every single person to collectively delete all of their dating app accounts. Dating apps have been proven time and time again to be largely ineffective at getting people into relationships. Why are these apps like that? Because it's company suicide to make a dating app that is actually effective at doing it's job. It is insanely profitable for dating app companies to rig the system to be as psychologically manipulative and as difficult as possible to actually meet people (unless you pay for in-app advantages). Dating app companies profit off of people's loneliness and insecurities. Dating apps only play a small role within the bigger picture of the loneliness epidemic, but it's still very important to talk about every single reason as to why loneliness is so bad to even have a chance at solving this problem.

Liara's final gift has an entirely different meaning if you romance her. If you didn't, the scenery depicts light blue ashes and a white, blueish light (the void). If you did, then the ashes turn red, and the void is red as well. What is clear is that a romanced Liara is Shepard's light, and Shepard is Liara's. The symbolism of red throughout Mass Effect is inherent with the Reapers, Renegade actions, anger, hate, and malice. Blue symbolizes good, Paragon actions, peace, and tranquility. Non-romanced Liara is showing you a peaceful, consoling end she wants to share with her dear friend. Romanced Liara is sharing her last intimate moment with her lover before facing the worst imaginable end. The caveat is that the color symbolism doesn't work for the ending choices.

Lol heard that word "colonized" being used in a weird way at the beginning and immediately got low-key "brainwashed gen Z" vibes from this guy. Sure enough, 21 minutes in, the video turned into "Capitalism bad" with Squid Game scenes playing in the background and as if Squid Game is some kind of commentary on capitalism which is nonsensical to anyone with a brain. I wondered where this video was going with all the word salad. I should've known better. That said, the message at the very end, I agree with. Keep making things. Don't just throw your hands up because AI exists.

Honestly, I don't think about it all that much... The internet is a tool. Nothing more, nothing less. It's an effective extension of one's abilities, but never a replacement for them. The one in control of how you use it, and how it affects you, will always be you. Use your tools wisely.

when i hear people asking for "genuine representation" and "authenticity" i am made aware of this dreadful feeling of dissolution. melting into the online ether so to speak. it's like "please give me a representation of the reality of my self back to me, bc i am entering into some sort of cyber-psychosis and all structures of meaning are crumbling!". simulacra and simulation and all that. it's a desperate gesture. an attempt at injecting "life" into the sterile. so in a way i celebrate the "death of the internet". i suppose it's a form of resignation

Art imitates life, life imitates art. I feel like all art is just us having a conversation with our subconscious mind. Everything is unfolding from the dark unknown and you're right, all we can do is ride that wave.
