UN Decade of Healthy Ageing

The UN Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021-2030) is an opportunity to bring together governments, civil society, international agencies, professionals, academia, the media, and the private sector for ten years of concerted, catalytic and collaborative action to improve the lives of older people, their families, and the communities in which they live.

Good initiatives but they must be seen and not only heard. We should avoid symbolism of affirmative action that we care but not interested.

Good video ! But trust me discrimination isn’t just about age. It’s also about face and height.

Good for most countries but developed ones have lost the plot. Extreme expense for minimal quality gains. How long can this charade continue 😢. The inequity worldwide is absurd including climate consequences, and with current demographics will worsen UNLESS organizations such as the UN begin to do something. About wars, corruption, free trade, migration and climate change.

I think ageism is another woke liberal virtue signaling thing probably, but in this case I'm all for it. I have always hated how people judge people based on age. Of all the things people can judge each other by, this is one of the few that you really cannot have any control over. You literally can't even judge based on weight, when being overweight is 100% controllable by over 99% of people (probably some disorders or medical conditions out there account for the few who can't) but anyway, people go around mocking old people, and especially kids/teens mock people even in their 20's and 30's. I did it too when I was young, but the irony is, when you get to your 30's you realize how dumb you were back then. We really know very little about anything prior to AT LEAST age 25, and in my case it was when I was about 32 or 33 that I really had a grasp on "most" things. I did take a LOT of nootropics in my early 30's, so maybe that's part of it idk but I got insanely smart in my early 30's and realized how braindead I was most of my life...man I really knew NOTHING back then. Then, what did my new found intellect get me? A bunch of kids making all the same dumb mistakes I made, calling me "boomer" and making fun of me because of my age. The worst part is when they do it to really old people. My mom is like 81 and she's doing VERY well for her age. So when some kid sits there and calls her "old" or w/e else, it's like...damn dude she's been alive for like 4+ of your lifetime...imagine how much she knows...how much she has experienced...and you throw an insult so blindly? yeah...I 100% support this anti-ageism stuff. TBH I used that word several years ago. I don't know if it even existed yet. I remember using it in a room full of people and being laughed at and someone's like "that's not a thing you're so cringe" or something to that effect. The general ignorance of the human race surprises me more every single day of my life.

This is remarkable. I have shared it on LinkedIn to the cohort that is in the "ageism conversation" - thank you so much for this beautiful work of art and the message it is bringing to society. We must come together and share our wisdom as we all are vessels at different stages of being filled. Such a poignant message for these times of longevity as we cannot continue to cannibalize generations, as it's unnatural in every human sense. I would love to feature this initiative on my podcast. I will reach out on the website. Thank you for all you are doing!

Such an important topic that is often hidden away by many. It's about time we tackled this issue head-on and all work together to change the narrative. Excellent work going on here.
