This mans story was so moving to me that was a partial reason why I visited Linda's grave as well as Ben. All these years later I'm still having trouble processing this. Knew a couple people there: one made it out early(saw him in the video) one did not, but I barely knew them really. My wife went to school with Buddy Howorth from Cohasset, MA "down at the bus stop everyday"..she said. Something moved me to go to the cemetary with in the past month...again all these years later.I pray all the time the people involved in this and those perished find peace and love with God. I was wondering who the woman was at the bar with the blonde hair smoking, doing like a lil dance of sorts with a darker haired girl. They were in the Butler video long version just before the band went on stage. Does anyone know who she was? This man is very brave to share his story. God bless him and watch over him, we need him here.

About the bouncer and the stage fire exit. The smoke from the fire was so toxic that a couple of lungfuls and you're down on the ground. Those crucial first few seconds, when everyone is confused, they still had a chance to get out of that door. By the time people realised how serious it was, it was too late.

I have seen many disasters docs on here but this one made me cry. Such senseless death and suffering due to stupidity. This is not the first such incident and somehow one gets resigned to stupidity and greed in the club industry , but then one watches something like this, omg...

It's odd seeing the tech use channel locks to change the link and use an ML link rather than K. I know it's done all over, but still odd seeing it displayed in this video.

I was is in a London club a couple of years after this and they had fireworks inside the club. I noticed a small flame lick up in the ceiling. I informed a barstaff and a bouncer then told a friend to make our way to the exit. Luckily it burnt itself out and nothing happened. But so vivid was this story in my memory at the time I wasn't going to take any risks.

One minute is not long at all right.. i mean it's incredible how fast it all went down. They make it sound like they had several minutes to think.. no. 90 seconds tops and you were dead! People just can't comprehend how quickly and how deadly it got in there.

I wonder how her friend was able th o make it out through the front door. By that time it was likely blocked. When it comes was a restaurant I recall as you walked in there was a wall directly in front approxi.ately 3 feet from the front door, such that you could not see into the restaurant. You would either have to go right to be seated in the atrium or left to be seated in the main dining room. She is a remarkable woman with spirit and a will to fight for her life.

2:15-3:00 is the best evidence of using a smile or "happy" expressions to mask discomfort or pain, I hate in true crime when people are so thick to say something like "if they regret actions or are sad then why are they smiling" this is a very natural instinct and reaction for humans,,

The following skated on all responsibility: 1. The club bouncers that would not let people escape via the stag door. 2. The suppliers of the wrongly supplied highly flammable foam sound proofing. 3. The Rhode Island fire marshal's that never checked the sound proofing material. All got a PASS!!

I can't this horrible tragedy out of my head the horrific loss of life, the moron bouncer and his band only exit policy. The club owners negligence and stupidity. Vary rarely did I ever go to clubs or bars when I learned the details of this fire I don't go to bars or clubs at all anymore. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. And let's hope important lessons are not forgotten lest these deaths are in vain.

As the 20 year anniversary of the Station fire comes up I find myself thinking of those who lived and those who perished and how the survivors are I'm sure still coping with the aftermath. I had a small brush with fire once and it terrified me. I can't imagine what those who were there felt. I stay away from nightclubs because of the things I saw just in the videos. I just hope that we never have to hear about another fire like this again. The Station, Brazil Kiss nightclub, Perm Russia, the list goes on. Never again. I pray to God this never happens again. I've looked at pictures of the ones who perished. Such beautiful souls. I want the survivors and family members of those who passed in the fire to know we have not forgotten. We still look at the pictures we still pray for them, we still mourn their passing. I hope one day you all will find peace love and forgiveness. May the Lord bless you and be with you.

I've been in some clubs just like this. Narrow stairways & other things sticking out as red flags. You know when you just have that feeling about a place being unsafe. The old masquerade in Atl was an awesome club but the layout wasn't ideal for a quick evacuation. God forbid if someone shot off piros in that building! It would not be good. That building was so old. To my knowledge they never allowed piros in the club. They've recently moved to a more open building. Easy quick access to exits. Much as I loved the old building, I think they made a smart move. It's difficult to enjoy shows in an old building like that after learning of this fire. You see things differently.
