    @@BeTransfiguredMinistries True. But, to the shepherd we recognize voice of. I will finish my comments with following quote: "...And formerly the heretics were manifest; but now the Church is filled with heretics in disguise. For men have fallen away from the truth, and have itching ears. (2 Tim 4,3) Is it a plausible discourse? All listen to it gladly. Is it a word of correction? All turn away from it. Most have departed from right words, and rather choose the evil, than desire the good. This therefore is the falling away, and the enemy is soon to be looked for: and meanwhile he has in part begun to send forth his own forerunners , that he may then come prepared upon the prey. LOOK THEREFORE TO YOURSELF, O MAN, AND MAKE SAFE YOUR SOUL." - St. Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures, Lecture 15.9

    So Armenian-Orthodox can get married within the Greek-Orthodox church without issue but cannot receive the sacraments of confession and holy communion? Does the Armenian-Orthodox Church recognize the validity of a Greek-Orthodox wedding ceremony for one of their faithful? ( I understand the Roman Catholic church allows this in the Greek Orthodox Church.) Also, can a Armenian-Orthodox priest provide a blessing at the end of a Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony if one of the people belong to the oriental orthodox church?

  • @BeTransfiguredMinistries
    @BeTransfiguredMinistries3 ай бұрын

    According to Tradition of the Church, no other blessings can be given except by a Canonical Orthodox Priest. As I understand the situation if an Armenian Orthodox Christian is married in the Greek Orthodox Church, he or she would not be in good standing with the Armenian Church.

  • @Theo-hb2cb

    @@BeTransfiguredMinistries I have seen that the Greek Orthodox Church allows Catholic priest to say a blessing at the end of an Orthodox wedding ceremony. In order to validate the Catholic person in being in good standing with the Catholic church which they belong too. Are you saying that this would not apply for Oriental Orthodox Christians? cms7files.revize.com/stnicholaschurch/document_center/Sacraments/2021%20-%20Wedding%20Packet%20-%205-10-21.pdf

    As a Syriac Orthodox I just hope this intentionally long comment does not fall into any issues. The fact that we've been saying the same for 1500 years seems wasteful because what were the saints, and I will call them saints, Proterius and Flavian being martyred for? Dioscorus believing that Alexandria's patriarch should've been higher than Constantinople's is a matter of pride. Gregory Bar Hebreaus also acknowledged the language problem and Jacob Baradeus attempted for reunion by saying that we are saying the same thing worded differently. Although some people, like David Erhan, may say this isn't effective, but if that is the reason that has existed for centuries let the bishops and theologians say that. It is a bother that many attempts were hindered by responses on either side or were interfered by external forces. There is so much more like the miracle of St. Euphemia, may she intercede, and then there is the Spiritual Meadow by John Moschos. I would also like to ask that pre-Chalcedon Christians like Matthew the Hermit and Mar Awgin are venerated in the Miaphysite Church, yet they died in the 4th century, so why aren't they venerated in the other Churches? If I was to experience this union, it would lead to a lot of debate, they were saying the same thing just worded differently, then there is no need for this split, but wouldn't union mean that I'd expect the separated saints like Severus, Timothy, and Philoxenus to be lost, what about the robes, what about the fasting days. Regardless of how oppressed and diminished they were under the Islamic conquest, you're basically saying that generations of ancestors are in hell, but no they aren't in certainly hell for they were believing the same thing but worded differently. It's embarrasing, and it has hindered me a lot in the faith, does that mean the attendances in mass have been a waste of time, is God not listening to my prayers because I have errored in Christology to a false Jesus, what about the icons, yes are different in style, but it is still an icon. I was 17/16 when I realised this division, to say that I had believed in a type of Miaphysite Jesus because I was baptised Syriac is rather accusatory.

    Thank you for your comment. I would never say the past would be in hell after a reunification. As I said in the sermon, the human reality of pealing back the layers of history are a real human struggle. YES both Churches have saints that spoke poorly of the other Church. It is always good to remember the Church is beyond time. When we experience the future reunification, the past will leap for joy in heaven.

    I think you need to launch an updated version of this without the mask. I received a link today (Sept. 2023) and clicked. The whole ‘we are social distancing and wearing a mask’ theme doesn’t recognize the trauma so many people went through and will now be triggered. People won’t stay logged into the ministry that you have to offer. I hope this feedback helps. ❤ The content is worth re-posting for ´transfiguration’ without the shadow of Covid.

    He is: precisely why he started a Church. The only debatable issue is which Church is Christ's and which ones are schismatic. That leaves 4 options: Catholic (both Latin and Eastern), Oriental Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox and the Church of the East (currently split in 2). Study up and take your pick.

  • @redneckpride4ever
    @redneckpride4ever11 ай бұрын

    Also, despite the fact these 4 Churches disagree on what Our Lord meant when He told Peter he'd be the rock upon which He would build His Church, we all agree that He was founding a Church. Again, once you're done haggling over the details, decide which of the 4 I mentioned in my previous comment is the real deal. 😀
