Black Boomer Besties From Brooklyn

Black Boomer Besties From Brooklyn

Welcome to Black Boomer Besties From Brooklyn!

This is what the world needs now: Two free-thinking “seasoned” black women speaking their truth and inspiring others to do the same.

Shaped by 45 years of friendship that began at the prestigious Brooklyn Technical High School through the Ivy League, medical school, marriages, divorces, triumphs, parenting queer children, life-threatening illness, and many many amazing adventures.

Each week, besties Leslie Osei-Tutu and Angella Fraser will push against boundaries in love, culture, careers, faith, politics, and outdated assumptions about women of a certain age. Remember, you’re never too old to change your mind…or your hair!

Friendship is being present, patient, loving and respectful when you think your friend is driving you nuts and still be able to translate what she is articulating in her own poetic way. I get you both because my mind is a blend of both of your thinking. You complement one another and it's a joy to listen to you and watch you navigate it. Quirky is beautiful! You are so funny! Thanks ladies! " one must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star" Nietzsche said... Loved this conversation!

The orange menance doesn't care about us, he see black people as beneath him. The orange menance likes chaos and enjoys putting people against each other. As a people we need to see 👀 the forest for the trees 🌳. Legacy/ corporate/ mainstream media is on the game playing of both siding the issues. Very often giving the Orange menance a past and allowing him and GOP members to say and get away with a lot. Basically, the mainstream media carries the water for the GOP. It's how they frame questions or in their commentary. It's ridiculous. They've become part of the problem.

I think Rachel Scott saved the day. She asked questions and followed up in a way that the mainstream media have refused to do with Trump. I thought her first question was brilliant and addressed his hatred and hypocrisy like no one else has dared to do. I agree with you NABJ should have been ready to intervene when he became disrespectful. Allowing Trump to attack Rachel Scott was inexcusable. NABJ should have had a moderator ready to do so.

That's what they are trying to do. They have the right to seek asylum and start that process once they hit american soil. The problem is that it's not a streamline process, especially if they try it in their own country. That's why many try to do it directly in America , but it's on America to fix the process and make it more organized, fair, and attainable.

It took me a long time to change my mind about this but I agree with Leslie, I don’t believe most people do their best. I think most people do what they can get away with & what is easiest for them. In terms of customer service, that’s why companies like Chick fil a & Disney World stand out; they have standards for excellent service that are communicated to & normed with their staff. The customer service experience is consistent within their organizations.

Are the people also saying that it would be ok to pardon convicted January 6 insurrectionists who attacked police officers? I am still waiting for a definition of a black job. But in the meantime, I’ll assume “they” mean unskilled, manual labor - maybe day jobs. Jobs that don’t require higher education. Maybe store clerks??? In comparison here’s what migrants are doing to get by in my Queens, NY area. I don’t know of any African American/black people in competition for this (although I am seeing more African migrants on the streets selling headphones, lately. kzread.info/dash/bejne/g4p605d7qKTIZM4.htmlsi=qqGWUN00GCfqjhMe We need to be highly selective about who we invite to speak with us, interview us, and debate us. Breaking Black News!!! The Benign Neglect, Anti-Black Racist policies, trick-bag reparation scams will NOT be Tolerated by this generation!!! The Democrats (and the Republicans) were told that the road to the white house is the Black Agenda GETS the Black Vote!!! "Cut The Check" GETS the Black Vote!!! or COUCH 2024!!! They heard us the first time!!! They hear us Now!!! Now, don't you think it's time to address Lineage Based "Direct Cash Payment" Reparations specifically for Foundational Black American, FREEDMEN descendants of United States of America Chattel Slavery? You're well aware of American slavery and the legacy of that and that we were never compensated or given restitution. So, when America ended slavery, it didn't do for us what it did for literally everybody else. It made them whole. It gave them compensation. We were just turned loose in a society that was making laws against us the entire time and still continues to do so. So, what I'm saying is that it was never rectified and that is the cause, the root cause of our current condition today is this ongoing practice of perpetuating what occurred, rather than remedying it. So, they remedied it for everybody else. Now whether or not, how they used it is a different matter. You know when you talk about the Indian casinos and what not, well they gave them their reparations and they can use it however they want to. You can have your opinions about that, but nobody took care of ours and we're talking about from chattel slavery, Jim Crow, segregation, prison industrial complex. You know we keep going after period after period of time of targeting us and taking our wealth from us and giving it to the White Society and at no point restoring that? - Jason "The Black Authority" Black "We have no permanent friends. We have no permanent enemies. We Only have permanent interest" -Professor BlackTruth. #B1 #WeAreTheBlackMedia No Reparations!!! No Vote!!! No Kidding!!!
