I'm not sure about the UK but Americans started to appreciate taller cars because as an aging population we found tall cars were easier to get in and out of.

I'd like to see a return of use of the SPARS code on all recordings (including downloads) with one addition: The adoption of the letter "M" (meaning "Mixed Analog and Digital") to the code. "M" would indicate that an album contains both analog and digital recordings and/or mixes since an album can contain both. The track list could use a marker (such as an *) to indicate which tracks are digital and which are analog.

I think I saw that in the magazine when I was young and entered it into my ZX80, with a few modifications. Or maybe it was on my ZX Spectrum. Either way, that was a long time ago.

Really like the look of this car and its practically I just wish the dash area was a little more modern looking. But it looks really early 2000s in its style with just the modern screen

The "full colour" version wasn't really any different to having coloured gel over a black and white screen, apart from it being able to turn all-red. Otherwise it just had fixed blocks of colour that worked like an overlay. Basically the output hardware would change the colour at set timings to create blocks of colour, like an overlay, or just leave it all red. It couldn't show colours wherever it wanted outside of the fixed blocks :) Must have caused pretty bad screen burn after a few years...

As an American, I've never encountered Sinclair computers in the flesh. I think I saw the four-line Timex Sinclair 1000 on a store shelf, that's about it. But I wonder if its keyboard was as painful to use as the Atari 400 I had for a while (before I gave it up for a C64, a much better fit). My fingertips ache even thinking about typing a small program on one of those.

I wanted a Schwinn so bad, to participate with my friends but my Dad was unaware which bicycle i wanted and saw this Raleigh and it was love at first sight and was even better than the Schwinn Chopper! Blew my mind at Christmas how he was able to hide this bicycle without me discovering it? I had a unique blue metalic Fleck paint Raleigh chopper with 3 speed shifter and the black metalic fleck vinyl stubby banana seat was unlike those in your documentary and wonder if my Dad had reverse engineered it? Nothing like it existed and my friends marveled how much more exciting my Raleih looked than their Schwinn Choppers. Every one stopped me desiring to ride it and make ramp jumps with it! Sadly i took it joy riding down a steep hill, and it began to wobble and increase unmanageable speed and i flew over the sissy bars and fell chin first into the pavement and deep laceration on my chin with blood vessels exposed and scrapes to my face arms kneas hands was rushed to the hospital. I suffered minor injuries with exception to surgically sew up my flap on my chin and my bicycle was all banged up. After that, i never peddled on that steep hill and eventually was given an older model schwinn with balloon tires with Wam-moe’s Var room motorised sound maker toy engine, but still liked using spring loaded clothes pin with playing card against the spokes making the sound of a motor cycle as the spokes inter mittantly flipped the playing card through the inter laces as the wheel spun around. (We kids were so innovative for our generation.) Thank you for sharing this documentary with us since i never knew all this info about this. Wish i still had the bike although at age 65 it deserves a younger audience of chopper bicycle enthusiests

Two things to note on the Z1: You should really pull a floormat out and put it over the open door before getting in, the amount of Z1 driving around with scratched up doors is insane. Sand and dirt falls off shoes and gets lodged between the door and its gaskets. Also, at the time there was a law that a "doorless" car had to have a retention strut or chain in the opening. BMW didn't want that, so they invited the head of the TÜV to their testing grounds. He took a seat in the car and their test driver tried his best to dislodge the man from his seat. He failed, so the TÜV agreed that you couldn't be flung from the vehicle with the door open, and BMW got an exemption from the law.

Rather than these expanding pallets or acceleration roller zones, why would you not just use the "progressively faster walkways" idea but in a line rather than parallel?

I saw this video, and as a Corvair enthusiast. I believe this also happened with the Corvair. Chevrolet or GM made decisions that lead to the production of the Corvair. It turned into an expensive dead end for GM to make. I think it's cool that Corvairs exist but from a business standpoint a car like the Chevy II would have been a better choice. I guess from an emotional standpoint I'm glad they did the Corvair. Sometimes companies can make wonderful cars from what starts out to be a questionable concept.

What!? You are a Zeddy guy as well as a car guy!? Me too! Even though across the pond, the Zeddy was my first computer, and I still write games for it. Basic is for ******s though. Gotta do assembly on the Zeddy! Me and a buddy did a passable Donkey Kong (Zonkey Kong - its out there free with a google that runs on the real thing or an emulator like EightyOne - also free and best on a 16k ZX81) and are working on a high res (with sound) version of Robotron (Robotack) now designed to work with WRX high res and ZONX sound - implemented in the ZXPAND add-on :)

Ah yes, the RCA of Japan. In the end, touting about how they invented VHS was all they had. I have 3 cassette decks built by JVC from 1984-1986. Built like absolute tanks and sound incredible. This was peak JVC from my perspective. Fast forward 10 years and it was all plastic junk. Another 10 years and the brand had all but disappeared and became irrelevant...again, from the perspective of as a consumer.

Dark Side of the Moon with AAD on the label is by far the best CD version. It's just a direct re-master into digital, with no one messing around with the mix. That goes for all pre digital recordings. AAD everytime. I also have a huge LP collection starting from the 60s. I do not have pops or scratches on my records as I looked after them, and now own an ultrasonic cleaner. I enjoyed your video, I'm not trying to be nasty.

Slightly larger piece of trash under the car and you rdoor are scratche up. Go thru muddy puddle or drive the car during the rain, open the door and let the undercarrage drip on to the nice cushy trims. Its just not practical - not even for rich people...

I worked as a graduate trainee for Austin Rover in 1986 - the management hadn’t improved, renaming on my contract to be sponsored to the RCA to punish another student who had not returned to the company after being sponsored to Art Center. Punishment for someone else’s problem didn’t sit right, so I left the UK motor industry for good. With many successful GM and Porsche products on the road I have never regretted that decision….
