Hi in the outbreak event in 31:52 seconds you put a cube in Beijing which houses the medic himself. Now the red disease is cured and as it houses the medic, beijing should not get any cubes right??? As the medic not only removes all cubes automatically of a cured disease wherever it goes without it being considered as an action and also prevents the spread pf a cured disease??
Good catch! Thank you for pointing that out, you are 100% correct. I should not have placed a red cube in the same city as the medic. Oops.
In the case of Hive Pocket and Hive Carbon, the ladybug and mosquito are already included. You just need to buy the pillbug separately. In the original set, you have to buy the ladybug, mosquito, and pillbug separately.
You’re play through of the tutorial is much more smooth and reasonable than the original play through video. I am considering hosting a game over the web with ISS Vanguard. I like how you have presented the game. Very neat and organized, something that must be done with games of this magnitude.

Very nice playthrough! I've never won either while playing this solo. If you'd played with just 7 path cards, you would've won! Never managed that myself haha.

just picked up the collectors gamefound edition and this is the best how to play tutorial i have seen so far. Really helping me understand the game mechanics before i play my first game and read the rules properly.

Nice play through - sorry I missed it live. Like how you opted to take City damage - I always get caught up in trying to shoot everything down - which isn't necessary to win - as you proved.

This has been extremely informative and helpful! I do have a question about the Moss Golem encounter around the 30 minute mark. You had used the Druid's Transformation for the two Strength dice, but should you have had two more from the Druid herself, too?
Thank you :) Good catch. You are 100% correct. I should have rolled 4 strength dice in total for that encounter. Don't know how I missed that, and you're the first person to notice it as well. So basically burned 3 time for no good reason as it turns out... oops. Thank you for pointing that out. Hopefully others will see your comment.

Where the hell did you store the tokens?
There is a tray next to the two card trays with 2 big cavities into which I put all the extra tokens in ziplock bags. And then in the top tray that holds the section boards and minis there are two troughs into which I put the extra dice.

Watched your setup video and just started this one. Did you read thru the rule book all the way thru before playing or does the tutorial really teach it as you go?
It really does teach it exactly as shown in the video. It’s a fantastic tutorial. I did play through it once before filming, but did my best to present it as you would experience it playing for the first time.

I like this sort of hard-ish sci-fi. "We only have three weeks to get out of the way!" It really sells how big space is, compared to something like Star Trek where they behave more like old fighter planes getting into a dogfight.
Agreed. It really makes it feel like a plausible future rather than total fantasy :)
Thanks for sharing :) My first LOTR game was Risk - LOTR themed. I consider myself a collector aswell, my wife however is very much into minimalising and what not. When our first kid was born 3.5 years ago, we moved to a bigger house and she was shocked to see my collection measured a good 16 boxes. And that was just Warhammer 😅 I’ve since the sold of most of my surplus miniatures, books and collectible cards in favour of keeping any and all board games I like. Looking forward to hearing more. I’m already really keen on LOTR LCG and Journeys in middle-earth.
I’m glad you enjoyed it :) That is one of the few LOTR games we don’t have. I have avoided getting into the miniatures war gaming side of the hobby for that very reason. I might very quickly be drowning in boxes. We’re excited to make more of these videos and keep sharing our collection.

1:00:54 how did you know you have to reroll the danger die? Did the card tell you to or is that a rule? If it’s a rule, I may have missed it
Also, when you fail to mark the success outcome on a special action, aren’t you supposed to then by default mark the fail option? My understanding was that some outcome always gets marked when doing a special action (unless it has a track)
Oops.. that was just a verbal fumble. I was meant to roll the danger die when I first rolled my action dice, because there is the danger die symbol on the action I was taking. So I should have said "I need to ROLL the danger die" not "Re-Roll the danger die" My brain was clearly in 're-roll' mode... sorry for the confusion.
That is indeed correct. I should have resolved Log 112 as the result of failing that action. Oops...

It is a “beat your score” situation. There is a Colony Leader Board that you compare your final score to, to see how well you did.
Heya. I’ve been listening to your episodes on Apple Podcasts, and I just had to say I’m really happy with your content. I stay at home with two kids (3y and 8months) so finding the right podcast is important. Your family friendly tempo and voices are greatly appriciated by all ages. Hello, been playing this lately with my son, Michael, running 3 characters and realising how lucky we were to get a win on this play through. This is not an easy game. It’s taking us 3-4 bashes at it to pull it off. Haven’t come up with dream team yet, working on it.

Apart from the crew cards (that use the included sleeves) we didn't end up sleeving any of them. Partially due to the fact that they wouldn't fit in the trays, they're incredibly good quality, and you're not really ever shuffling them... so fortunately sleeves are not specifically necessary.
Wait, i just bought forest of shadows, but there's no Caliana inside. What?
That is strange. I know Caliana is listed as a promo on BGG. Perhaps they added her to the first print run or something like that. I bought this copy several years ago. My apologies if that wasn’t made clear in the video.
