    Hey Tyson I’m wondering if training legs makes gymnastic movements harder. I want to be able to do all these movements some day but I don’t want to sacrifice leg training and mass for it.

  • @TysonE
    @TysonE7 сағат бұрын

    Yes it does make it harder but it is also true you don't have to sacrifice your leg training. I have achieved iron cross, straddle planche, front lever, HSPU, one arm chin up all when my legs where at their biggest (when I did Olympic lifting).

    If ur in a gym trying to figure out how blocking works as an elite gymnast and beginners coach I also recommend using a spring board or mini tramp. If not in a gym try running and jumping off something with both feet (with both of these jump like your trying to fly like Superman) also you can try running and jumping up onto an elevated surface or sturdy platform (tho It has to be low enough that your confident you can land on it but high enough that you can’t/wont just step up onto it). These are the methods that have always worked when teaching kids how to block for the first time hope it helps someone

    I’ve been following you for a long time and I’ve been watching the way you train. Have you ever tried training for the planche daily? You can train for the planche intensively every day. You’ll make way better gains if you let your body adapt to more frequent and intense training. You’ll get stronger, faster. Just make sure you don’t do too much other stuff that is not focused on your goals (junk volume).

    Could give it a go. 30-day challenge? What you thinking: tuck planche, planche lean or banded planche. Attempting full or doing straddle every day would give me tendonitis.

  • @robbyboon5739
    @robbyboon57394 күн бұрын

    That would be really cool if you did that! I think you could make a lot more gains in 30 days than you think if you apply this method. We are actually following each other on Instagram. I’ll send you a message there and explain more about it.

    Nice! That straddle was clean, and so was the FL. The FL looks pretty good for being the challenge progression for you. Also I'm glad you're finally putting in the grind on OHP. I think it'll give you that final piece to smash full planche in maybe a month.

  • @XxOffTonexX

    HSPU needs the same form check as muscle up. Keep your line, and control the entire movement or you're cheating or maybe even not counting the rep if it's bad enough.

    I have just started rings and want to master the ring support as a one of the basics. I understand that the arms are to be locked, but i want to make sure i'm not doing that wrong. Is the lockout supposed to be to the extent that the triceps are doing zero work, and it's all bone to bone lockout with biceps stretched to the point where it is almost painful at the biceps insertion? When i do this, after stopping, it is almost difficult to bend my arms. They feel slightly cramped at the elbow when bending. Another thing i have read is that when doing the support holds, particularly RTO holds, that the forearm should not touch the rings. Is that correct? Also, some have said that proper RTO hold is for rings to be fully at 90 degrees, inline with the body. I can almost get there, but I will need a lot of work to get fully to 90 degrees. Please address these questions. I don't want to start out wrong by giving myself too much leeway in form.

  • @TysonE
    @TysonE5 күн бұрын

    No, you definitely want your triceps working, the musculature supports the joint, you don't purposely dump the stress into the joint! The forearm touching and 90 deg inline is semantics IMO, aesthetically and functionally, that sounds about right but to me the most important factors are arms straight and shoulders depressed (push down) and then you can add what other details you want from there.

    Hey mate, without a doubt its the amount of movement occurring through out your scapthoracic joint. Notice how you have to reset position every rep. I'd drop the weight down till you can hold the scaps in the position you want through the entire range of the movement. maybe doing some strict lower lat activation/serratus focused dips before hand may help. PS, exercise physiologist here and fellow calisthenics guy.
