    Sorry to learn about your issue. Thanks for sharing it here. You have not mentioned whether it is a table top model or the regular 13/14 place setting model. Since it is new you can get a replacement for the machine from the company, I am sure. Please check that. I have been using this table top Beko Dishwasher for 3½ years now without any issues. So, I am not aware of how good or bad their service is. Of course, we had once approached Voltas service for our AC, for which a third party was sent and they not only quoted a very high rate but also told us that a few parts had to be replaced, and that too within 2½ years of purchase.

    For salt refills are you saying to add just another half kilo of salt each time? When your first filled you maintained a one to one ratio of salt to water to make the brine solution. I find with other videos people just add salt until whatever water is there overflows. Over time the water level will reduce and the brine solution won't be as effective. Does the machine add water on its own to this compartment at all or is it up to the user to ensure water is adequate?

    I'm wondering as to the need to descale a dishwasher at all since it has a built in water softener already. If any scale is noticed then I would think either the salt has finished or the hardness level has not been set correctly. There should be no need to descale a dishwasher regardless of hardness is my point. Would you agree?

  • @BhuvanaAdi
    @BhuvanaAdi10 күн бұрын

    Hi, What you have said is correct in principle. But if we look at it practically, using hard water (beyond a certain threshold level if I may say) with built in softener is not the same as using direct soft water. Another point to note is that two waters of same hardness value from different places behave differently because their possibly different composition. Hardness is a measure of only calcium and magnesium. I have lots of viewers sharing about using dishwasher for TDS upto 900 ppm (with or without descaling I don't know). Hardness in such cases could be around 600 ppm, but I am sure they would be facing some scaling issues. I hope you are aware that hardness and TDS are quite different and it is hardness which we have to follow. However this is a topic of continuous learning for me based on my own usage, and the 5000+ comments received from my viewers for my 60 + videos on dishwasher. So each day is a learning and what I am sharing is based on my knowledge and experience. Again, the built in softener is not a softener in the true sense. It only replaces Ca/Mg ions with Na ions that too at a certain frequency based on the machine settings. So if the water is hard beyond threshold levels, we do get scaling in visible and non visible areas of the dishwasher. Fortunately my water is fairly soft and I have never faced scaling issues. In fact I used descaling only for this video and I have never had the need to use descaler either before or after that in the last 12+ years. So it is recommended to use a descaler at regular intervals based on the hardness and scale formation. In case the water hardness is low and scaling is also very less, one can use either citric acid or vinegar in machine clean function which is recommended by some appliance manufacturers. Thanks.

  • @johndoe-vc1we
    @johndoe-vc1we10 күн бұрын

    @@BhuvanaAdi certainly I'm aware that hardness isn't the same as TDS. I constantly recommend the total hardness kit sold on amazon by aquasol to measure hardness exactly for this purpose. But people seem reticent about it and stick with TDS meters that has no relation to hardness. Looking at the limits of the built in softener in these dishwashers and doing the conversion to metric, the limit appears to be around 900 ppm of total hardness which is a fairly high limit as far as hardness goes. That is your threshold. If total hardness is above 900ppm then the threshold has been crossed. If salt is regularly filled I would argue that water of total hardness of 600 or 700ppm will be sufficiently softened that it leaves no scale. If the salt runs out then scale will form. Now there other salts present as well but they won't be scale forming so that's why no need to descale. At such high levels of hardness I would recommend descaling of a washing machine say which has no built in water softener on a monthly basis and no later than bimonthly. Better still would be to use a seperate water softener in this case.

The Quick program does not have drying,. You could use the Extra Dry option whenever required. Once the program completes open the door and leave it slightly open for 15-20 minutes before opening the door fully. The dishes will dry in that time. Hope this helps. Thanks.

  • @BhuvanaAdi
    @BhuvanaAdi19 күн бұрын

    Sorry for the delayed reply. Since your water is very hard, you should use a descaler regularly. Also, once in every week you can run an empty cycle(without loading any vessels), by keeping a cup of citric acid or vinegar in the upper rack. This will dissolve the limescales formed on the internal parts of the dishwasher. Use auto cycle. You can decide the frequency based on your usage and also how soon the white stains are formed.

    Going by the comments, this device seems to have had the market cornered during my parents' time. 😂 Anyhow, I had a query. Can this be used to PUMP OUT WATER from say a water tank? You seem to be very well versed with its applications. I'll be obliged if you can answer this for me. TIA! 😊

    No This is not designed to handle water or other liquids through suction. The vacuum suction pressure is very low (just 2000 mm water column) hence it can suck only air and dust particles. The only water handling it can do is through the spray bottle and that too in the blower mode. Hope this answers your query. Thanks.
