    There is a reason that it was so important to Kentucky to be a national seed and be guaranteed a super-regional at home. It doesn't matter if it was Cliff Hagan Stadium or Kentucky Proud Park, UK has won every post-season series at home under Mingione--with the home crowd being a huge factor--but then quickly faded on the road in the super-regional. Plus, the Cats are hungrier than ever for the school's first appearance ever in Omaha. My concern is not the pitching--they only gave up 1 run in the final two games of the regional, using only a few arms. My concern is how good their 22-8 record in the SEC really was. 11 SEC teams were in a regional. Only 5 advanced. But that 22-8 conference record earned them home field advantage in this super-regional. It's a big ballpark that, it is my understanding, doesn't give up as many home runs as others. Don't be surprised if the story after the Lexington super-regional is how the home crowd and UK's bunting, base stealing, etc. were the difference.

    The comments about the Arkansas game were rather bizarre - Arkansas started three and out, fumble, and then three and out. Missouri was a little conservative on offense early, but that game was over in the first quarter realistically

    Playing on the road has hurt us this year but I’m hopeful we have a second gear playing up to the level of competition. At the globe life round robin we handled ttech, okst and mich pretty easily only running into the buzzsaw that is Hagen smith.. even in that one it was only a 4-3 ballgame. Should be a tight series this wknd

    Lack of effing respect. Learn things. MU/OU go back to at least the BIG 6. Established in 1907, but I don't think OU joined until 1928. And yes OU has dominated my guys overall, but here's to seeing it renewed and MU actually having the talent to compete on a level playing field instead of the unauthorized NIL bonuses provided in the past

    I don’t really understand the left side being harder than the right thing. The Oregon st and Kentucky are both crazy good. Georgia has a stupid good lineup. Clemson has a stupid good lineup. A and m has a stupid good lineup. Florida hits home runs. Nc st very good. The left has some cream puffs compared to that

  • @southeastern14
    @southeastern1419 сағат бұрын

    Neither are easy; I just think that if the favorites win, the left side is a little more power-heavy than the right (which is crazy given the right could have Georgia/TAM/Clemson). Maybe I'm overstating it; I just see what Tennessee does, and then you had two good, deep pitching staffs in Mississippi State and LSU that couldn't get past Virginia and North Carolina. Who knows. It's baseball! - Chris

    The problem when you say it’s a “hitters park or little league park” in Knoxville is both teams play on the same field! Tennessee has had a top 5 ERA in the country each of the last 3 years! So it doesn’t affect our pitchers. It’s a lazy take and it’s something for whiny coaches who lose to UT to complain about.

  • @southeastern14
    @southeastern1419 сағат бұрын

    This is based on stats and not opinion. Lindsey Nelson is in the top 6% of hitter-friendly environments in America over the last three years (www.actionnetwork.com/ncaa-baseball/college-baseball-park-factors) and according to that, the most hitter-friendly environment in the conference. The conditions are the same for both teams, which makes what Frank Anderson has done with the pitching impressive. - Chris

    Its funny that someone will hit a homer with 112 velo and 420 on the distance and they will say it's a small park.

    The Oklahoma state game was going to be the Michigan game. But Michigan bought out the home and home with Arkansas, to renew the Notre Dame game. Because the BIG went to 9 conference games. So Arkansas signed a home and home with Notre Dame. This is the last year of A&M and Arkansas in Dallas. There's talk of Oklahoma state taking that spot in Dallas. And I have no idea what our record will be. But, I guarantee you this. Arkansas will not lose 7 to 3 to Mississippi state. Arkansas offense will be high powered, and alot of points will be put on the board.

    You have to look at this roster and the rest of the rosters in the SEC. I dont think there is another roster in the league that is as old, experienced and with as many shooters. This team should not only be a good 3 point shooting team, but should be an elite 3 point shooting team. Teams will have to play the Perimeter, and there wont be any crowding the paint or shrinking the floor against this team. In any lineup UK will have the best shooters on the floor in any matchup in the SEC. And idk about him being the guy when the clock is ticking down for that "bucket getter" , he sure will be an option, but Kobe brea is a better shooter, so having both on the floor in late game need to score situations would be ideal. Go back and watch Kobe brea in the tournament i cant remember who they were playing but it may have been the first or second round and Dayton was trailing by 18, and Kobe Brea single handedly made like 4 consecutive 3s and a 2 and helped cut the deficit into only 4 pts. Dayton went on to win that game. So in terms of having to have "that bucket getter" I wouldn't put as much emphasis on it because the way this team will play will be with sets, screens, pin downs, zoom actions, al kinds of ball movement and there will be a lot of open driving lanes and open 3 point shots took. Lamont Butler is a better scorer than given credit, Andrew carr can score, Ansley alonor can score, Otega Oweh is an exceptional athlete that can drive the ball and attack and can also shoot the 3 fairly well. This team is gonna have like 5 dudes averaging double digits.

    I'm really excited for Arkansas football this year, especially with some new blood, but most of all getting Bobby Petrino back! If we could just permantanly play LSU on Thankgiving week again, that would be the iceing on the cake for us. We hate playing Missouri as our last game of the year. Win or lose, we never look forward to it. They are NOT our rival. It's completely forced. Arkansas vs. LSU and Mizzou vs Oklahoma for Thanksgiving. Makes so much more sense.

    I can't remember another team with this many 3-point shooters who shoot nearly 40% and, in a few cases, well above. There's at least five of them. And in an offense that will likely shoot more threes than twos.

    The cats got the piece that they were missing, and now they are legitimate SEC contenders with a roster full of veterans. There is versatility in the lineups Mark Pope can throw out there, and you have both legit scores on offense and defensive stoppers on the other side of the floor. As long as Mark Pope can manage all of the players and develop some good continuity on the team, this team should be pretty awesome.
