I love Caumsett , I used to walk there all the time, winter, spring, and summer and fall. It's so beautiful! I was friends with the park manager Duke, sadly he died in I believe 2007. He was the nicest man! I 'm not living on LI now, I moved away 5 years ago next month, but ohhh, I can't wait to move back home and live on LI, I miss it every day. When I go back home for good, I'll start walking at Caumsett again.

Beautiful video. I was born and raised on LI and lived there until 2019, I miss it sooo much, I love LI and the people too! I look forward to moving back home someday, I've missed it everyday since I left. I used to go to various parks and beaches. One park I loved going to was Caumsett State Park in Lloyd Neck. It was there that I saw a pretty special thing concerning Piping Plovers. They have cordoned off protected areas for them there. So I was walking on the beach below the fenced off areas when I saw what looked like a small cotton ball on skinny legs, it was a teeny tiny bird, I was just enchanted, suddenly I heard squawking, and the tiny bird just blended in with the sand. I looked to my left to see an adult Piping Plover with what looked like a broken wing and it was squawking away, I watched it, but it took off, I looked back and couldn't see the tiny bird. Then days later Newsday did a piece on Piping Plovers and too funny, the author wrote that the Mother, to protect the baby from predators will feign having a broken wing and will squawk hoping to attract the predator so it will ignore the baby and go after her and once the baby is hidden it will run or fly away. That was so cool!

It’s a park. It’s not a beach. Great walking trails but no ocean. There is a restroom but not for changing your clothes.

Four generations of my family have enjoyed walking the grounds/trails of the Arboretum. This is truly one of the most stunning places I have ever been. Now that they have even included the upstairs house tour, something I just dreamed about when I was a child, it is even more magical. I now enjoy it with my grandchildren and hope they pass it on😍

No. The “gps” version of the watch is paired to your phone. It’s not necessary for the Watch itself to have a cellular plan but you do need a cell phone.

You really need to learn how to raise your speaking mic up when you are speaking and turning your music down when you aren't speaking, The balance between them hurts the ears. Looks like a nice place to visit though.
