ROGUE OUTDOORS

My name Is Jared, and im just a guy that love the outdoors. I have been hunting since I was just a little kid. I have a vast knowledge of hunting, hiking, shooting, and the outdoors. I decided after being a KZread fans of other channels that there was always something I would have wanted to learn more about, or something I thought should have been done differently. So I decided to make those changes in my own videos. I will include tech tips, field reviews, hunting films, and much more. I want to see questions and requests from anyone who watches my videos so that I can better explain each topic more. Thank you for reading about my channel. I appreciate the chapter breaks, and visual information added during the video. this made it efficient to look through what a person is really curious about if they don't have time to follow the full in depth review. thank you

    Thanks for the video man and walk around at the end as well. I just got my pack stolen out of my truck in Vegas at the silverton hotel and now on the search for the k4 model. I had the k3 4800, I love the horseshoe design but I never do any more than 3 day backcountry hunts. Is the 5000 too big you ever think? Im about 5'9 160lbs. I just want to buy one pack that does it all just torn between the 3600 now and 5000 size

  • @rogueoutdoorshtkstw
    @rogueoutdoorshtkstw18 сағат бұрын

    I would do the 5000. It can size down really tight but will give you enough room to stay as long as you want if you do a 8-10 day.

    I have gone through the process of leveling the string, then leveling the bubble in the sight housing to the string using the 2nd axis adjustment. When I clamp the Hamskea level to the slider, the slider is not level to the string or the sight housing bubble. Does this matter? Or do all 3 have to be level to each other (the sight housing bubble, the string, and the vertical slider bar)? How would I go about leveling the vertical sliding bar to the string if required?

    Looking at harnesses now. One thing I don’t see anyone talking about is the accessibility to the binoculars. Seems to me that having more of the binoculars exposed with the lid down, like with the Stone Glacier, would make them easier to remove.

    Good comprehensive comparison of a lot of popular options. You talked me out of the Sitka harness as a possible option. They are about to release a new design, so I figure they will put the current one on closeout sale eventually. Btw there is an Amazon copycat of the AGC that is way cheaper. I've used several different ones and am currently running an old Tenzing OSS15. I will probably buy their new harness when it comes out soon. Browning and Bushnell also have some nice affordable options.

    The Mark IV is definitely the Sportster of the 22LR pistol world with all the third party upgrades available. Some sort of charging handle modification is absolutely necessary, as the stock grooves are literally painful to use. With that said, this upgrade might be nice for running steel at speed, but the Brownell's charging handle functions just as well or better for most situations at 20% of the cost.

    One of the better reviews on this sight I've seen. Most of them go over the entire setting up/sighting in and making it seem a bit more complicated than it actually is. I too got this for my Ventum Pro 33 and I love it. I also had the same thought process of buying the dovetail version initially, thinking in terms of future proofing, but also purchased the pic adapter later on which I now use exclusively. Overall, with it's bulletproof build quality and design it's one of the best sights on the market.

    On the original video you were going to include if the bsf carbon barrel was more accurate/ better then the proof research barrel just curious what your opinion was between the 2 barrels

  • @rogueoutdoorshtkstw
    @rogueoutdoorshtkstw2 ай бұрын

    I ended up doing a review I was not able to figure out how to show on video. I tested with varying elevation, temperature and barrel temperature. I also tested different bullets. With each test I would find both barrels were better than the other. An example of that was I was shooting two 6.5 creed barrels. The BSF shot a specific Hornady hunting bullet way better than the proof, but the proof had a different weight Hornady hunting bullet it liked. Both were equally as good when shooting the right bullet. In the end it would come down to how much money you want to spend on your build and the specific ammo load you want. However that can be a shot in the dark if you don’t have the two barrels to try with what load you’re looking for. And I would also add it depends on what kind of accuracy you’re trying to get/ are capable of shooting. I’m not a crazy long distance guy. I’m happy with a 12x12 at 800 size group for hunting and both barrels can do that. I would pick whatever one is on the action you really like if it’s coming stock on a gun your looking into and if your building then the one with the best warranty if something does fail in the carbon process down the road. That was a lot of rambling, hope that helps some. Haha

    What kind of terrain are you normally hunting? I would go the EL if I was in more brushy area and not trying to glass over 800 years often. If you want the better magnification go with the NL, but just know if your hunting 200 yards and in a lot, you will struggle compared to the huge field of view of the EL at 50mm.
