Great video, I do not ship out stickers for myself yet but I was planning on starting. A great tip on the envelopes (which is genius by the way) get a custom stamp made with your branding to set off the envelope from everything else in the mail. IT will get someone even more excited to open it.
Thanks! Great point about the custom stamp too. Good luck with getting started with it all -- sounds like you'll make some cool stuff!
Seems like you should have printed a sample that had more colors than red... but this is still helpful.
@@JoshAmes1980 fair point. I wasn’t using a ton of color in my work at that point. Definitely would do that if I made the video again.
why no new videos ?
Lots of personal life events happened over the last year and making videos was too much on top of all that. Funny you should mention this though, because I'm currently working on a new video and planning to get the channel going again.
@@redhalftone good keep move forward.
great video, so helpful! thank you!
Awesome to hear! :)
yo i love the video! what’s the music you used in the background???

Thank you x 100 for this!
Welcome! :)
Never imagined Valerie from tvd was this good at tutorial
Thank you so much for these 2 videos!! I so appreciate how much time and money you just saved me. I specialize in stickers for long distance backpackers who hike over 2000 miles in about 5 months. So, this info was priceless! Thanks again!!
Thanks for checking them out and glad they were helpful! Dang, 2000mi in 5 months -- that's wild and very cool!
Totally got to do this in my apartment. We aren't allowed to put holes in the walls. This looks like it is painted on too! Love it!
Thanks! Yeah, its definitely a good compromise to not being able to hang stuff on your walls!
soooo satisfying 🤩 i need to try this one day!
Thanks, you totally should! :)
That’s cool can you make one that’s lukeskywalker with a gun
Anything's possible!
Love your designs
Thanks so much!
These look sick
Thank you!!
If only Vinyl Disorder didn't charge tripple the price of the stickers to ship to my country ://
Bummer :(
Who knew.
WOW Looks beautiful!
Thanks!
Your execution is flawless. Love the hang tag!
Thank you so much! :)
Hello Lisa. Thank you for this informative video. I have a question to ask. You have matte and gloss versions. Is that the vinyl or the over laminate?
Thanks for checking it out! For some of these, it's just the vinyl and others are laminated. It's hard to tell the difference by just looking at them. I think most of the ones that are UV-resistant have a laminate of sorts.
is that the plays challenge on reels.
No , this was a now-defunct program they had where some people got invited and you were paid by the number of plays you'd get each month.
Very cool
Thanks!
Does anyone know where I can get some assorted stickers printed? I want different designs but only want maybe two or three of each one?
Of these vendors, check out vinyl disorder. When you click on their cut to shape stickers, you'll see a grey box at the bottom of the quantities section that says"need just one?". You could probably order them all individually that way. Overall it will be more expensive per sticker, though.
I ❤ NY
wtf !? your just dope af
Thanks!
You should give us a review :)
We are good to :)
I was wondering which custom sticker brand would you prefer for preference and good quality
My go-to is StickerApp. I really like their overall product. The print quality is top-notch and in my experience, they print on quality vinyl that lasts. They're definitely not the most affordable of the bunch but if quality is at the top of your list, that's who I recommend.
Well done and very helpful. Thanks! 💖
Glad to hear, thanks for checking out the video! :)
Thanks so much for this! I'm currently researching offering stickers in my art practice, but had never previously heard of these sticker printers. Great comparison testing on a good-sized field. 💖
Thank you! They all have their pros and cons depending on what's most important to you. Glad this helped on your research journey!
thanks a lot for sharing the behind the scenes! the tag turned out amazing :))
Thank you! And thanks for checking out the video! :)
She missed the largest one, stickermule.
Thanks
Can I get a link to the template file?
This is prolly a dumb question but if I want to print stickers with fluorescent colors in the design, what are the options? Is that a particular printing process or sticker material or can any printing service generally do prints with fluorescent inks? Thanks.
With digital/CMYK printing you won't be able to achieve fluorescent colors. The digital/CMYK process is what most of these vendors offer. You'll want to look for a vendor that offers silkscreen/screenprinting and will Pantone color match or at the very least will offer the basic fluorescent inks. Of these vendors, Sticker Robot actually does offer screen-printed stickers with Pantone color matching so it's likely you could achieve this with them. However, keep in mind that it will be more expensive than what's shown in this video because you're getting into specialty printing.
@@redhalftone Okay, thanks. I figured fluorescent inks might involve screen printing. I appreciate 👍
Such an awesome resource-thank you!
Thank you! :)
I am being told by the USPS that I cannot ship my sticker packs (6 or 8 stickers in a baggie) because they claim it won’t go through the rollers. They say I have to pay the nonmachinable surcharge but my customers are not getting my stickers for up to 4 weeks. The alternative is a 3.75 tracking package that still takes 5 biz days to arrive. Any thoughts? They’re flat out refusing to take my stamped envelopes.
Have you tested mailing them? I wasn't clear if you were just asking USPS and they said no, or you mailed some and they didn't arrive or took a long time to arrive to your customers. I don't ask USPS, I just test. I've been able to mail them in envelopes with just a regular forever stamp (no nonmachinable surcharge). My general rule of thumb is as long as it looks like it could be a greeting card and it's under 1oz in weight it's totally fine. If it's over 1oz you need to pay more postage. In the cases like that, or for larger bulkier orders you can buy rigid photo mailers -- I use the 9x7in ones and you can mail those as a "flat" rather than a package. Flats are cheaper because they don't include tracking (you can add it but it basically turns into package pricing if you do).
USPS goes by weight and I've sent 15 stickers in a greeting card envelope. No issues.
@@NeurospicyJenn Yep, this is correct!
I love going through and finding out how other people ship items out. I have almost no branding style. If you are just getting started, don't forget you can go super cheap. At this point I go through so many orders. I have always shipped in a blank #10 Envelope which I run through a super cheap B/W Laser Printer. for protection I use a small piece of Chipboard with the packing slip folded around it, and the order tucked nicely inside. Many different ways to ship an item out. Fantastic video!
Thanks! That's a really good point! The blank/generic method you described works great and is probably the way to go especially when getting started. Thanks for sharing your method. I always enjoy talking shop!
Wicked rad holographic and next level hand designed art. I have 2 custom boards from them and so simple to insert pics. My two boards premised John Wick and Be Like Water My Friend. I’ll check out your board. 🤘
Thanks so much! They're great for boards and the print quality is great. Great to hear from someone else who has used them. I gotta dig into your videos as well -- just subscribed!
@@redhalftone rad and thank you. Looking forward to all the merch. I went a little crazy 😂, but seriously-all awesome things that hit me in the mind, body and soul. Appreciate all your hard work. 🙇🏻♂️
Whoah! I had no idea you could custom print decks and tape. Very cool. As a kid i always wanted to design my own boards, as an adult i seem to have forgotten all about that. I'm happy others haven't, and this exists. Informative vid. I have subscribed. I'm binging your stuff.
Thanks so much for checking out my videos! I'm hoping to get back into it this year and share more print projects and overall creative stuff. I totally agree with you -- it's so fun with all of the stuff you can customize these days!
@redhalftone if you got time to do it then I'm sure there are a number of people who appreciate the vids. Though I also get that 1 it's time consuming, and 2 it's niche. So it's gotta be something you've got time and dare I say enjoy. Like making stickers for my shop, I enjoy making them, and do it in spare shop time. But if it were tedious or I didn't enjoy it, I wouldn't do it. I'd stick to my normal print work.
@@katherinelangford981 Totally agree with ya!
Interesting. I used Sticker Mule, as they had a 10 stickers for $1 promo. They were a matte finish and had a sort of satin texture to them. They also allowed for me to specify the off set, or how much white was around it, and that was cool. I've since learned how to make stickers myself, printing on vinyl, cold laminating, then contour cutting, but I can only do glossy finishes. So that's what I'm selling in store. I tested them out on my car for a few months before releasing them. No dishwasher to test, but handwashing seems fine. If these get busy enough to warrant just having them outside printed I'd be willing to give Stciker Mule another order and give one of these guys a try to compare. Probably sticker app. Have about 8 designs so far, but about 5 that do best. I'm off to find your 6 months later video. Thanks this was informative and hopefully useful down the line.
Thanks for sharing your experience with Sticker Mule. I was hoping more people would chime in with experiences! How did the Sticker Mule sticker hold up on your car? I'm guessing that would be a really telling experiment for outdoor durability.
@redhalftone actually I never tried it out. By the time they arrived I figured out how to make my own. But you're right. Trying both out on the car, at the same time, to see how it fairs would be a good test. Similar to yours. I'm by Detroit and get a good mix of weather.
when you say a softer cut like, do you mean like the feel of it on the edge? I like for my stickers to be rounded down and smooth so no dirty and grime sticks around the edges. I have stickers from sticker app and they're sharp on the edges
I mean rounded edges as in there are no pointed, hard-angled edges. I guess I just don't like rounded contours :). I haven't noticed any grime or edges collecting dust in the rounded vs sharp edge contours. I know what you mean by the grime though, but it appears to have to to do with some vendors having a bit of adhesive around the edges. I'm guessing this has to do with how they cut them -- laser vs. plotter cutter. I think the laser-cut ones get stickier and attract the grime. I've resorted to leaving them in the ziploc bags they come in to mitigate this.
What about bigger stickers and decals? Like 7inch by 7 inch? I use USPS Ground Advantage and it costs a lot.
You can mail them as "flats" with USPS using the same rigid mailer I've shown in the video. Mailing as flats without tracking is significantly cheaper. The tracking is what makes it expensive, but if it would be a financial loss if it got lost in the mail it would be best to include the tracking. You kinda have to weigh whats most important.
Thank you for this video! I have never tried any of these companies but decided to order from Sticker App and I really like how I was able to clearly see what my sticker will look like before ordering . The past company I was using just gave a blurry example of what I just uploaded and it would make me worried my sticker would be blurry too! Your video was very clear and concise which is really appreciated!!
Thanks for checking it out! Glad you had a good experience with StickerApp -- they're one of my go-to's for stickers.
Thorough input by a thorough New Yorker! Excellent work!
Thanks! :)
Amazing tips! Where can I get the shipping material in aliexpress anyone knows anything?
Thanks! I got everything on Amazon
Not sure I want to watch the whole thing. Did you mention which was the best place in your opinion to buy stickers?
If you wantch from 10:29 you'll see the top contenders for what's most important to you (lowest minimums, on a budget, etc...). My favorite vendor is StickerApp, however they're not the most affordable option here and that's a deal breaker for some.
@@redhalftoneThanks for getting back to me. While I am looking to create logo stickers, I am also looking to do custom lettering as well to put across the windows of my truck & sides of my camper. I could not find lettering on StickerApp and Vinyl Disorder does not show a reasonable preview of what lettering would look like in a "real-life" situation. As you know there are a LOT of vinyl graphic stores on the internet. Would I be correct in assuming that you only highlighted the "stores" that were willing to "play ball" with you? If so, than this is only a fair comparison among the stores you listed as I have had some success with Red Bubble and Vista Print. Price is not the main concern, ease of use with the interface online while creating my design is very important. I really want to see what the product will look like BEFORE I spend my money. I spent over $200 on vinyl graphics on 4 stickers at a local business who did all of the printing and placement on a former vehicle. Thank you for your efforts in providing a look at a few sticker stores but as I stated, the ones I looked at StickerApp/Vinyl Disorder fell short when it came to working with their online software.
@@doctorkayak All of the vendors shown in this video specialize in vinyl stickers (more so in the stick-it-on-your-water bottle, street slaps, or laptop sticker sense) and are the some of the major players in that particular space. I wouldn’t count on these vendors for vinyl lettering - most don’t even offer that. I know Vinyl Disorder offers vinyl lettering but I’ve personally never ordered that from them so I’m not sure of the quality. The best way to see real-life work would be to check out a company’s social media, but even then you might not find anything. Printers are terrible at showing off their work. My 2-cents - if you’re looking for cut vinyl letters for a vehicle, go to a local sign shop or a shop that does vehicle wraps. I work with a lot of companies in the automotive space as my main job and anytime we design graphics for race cars or trailers we stick to local shops.
Fantastic video
Thank you!
Thanks for the honest insight! It’s a hustle out there for artists. I found that adding a unique flair to my Reels with boost app social has made the process more enjoyable.
Same here, the app’s been a real ally for creativity. Who knew a few taps could jazz up my content like that?
Does anyone know if any of these vendors are listed in Printful or Printify to print on demand my sticker designs?
These are all independent vendors that don't offer print-on-demand services. I have experience with Printful and don't recommend them for stickers. I can't speak for them all, but every print-on-demand service lacks quality compared to a regular vendor with minimums such as these. I know the drop shipping aspect of Printful is super convenient, but if you care about quality it's not the way.
