    How would I accomplish this with the new X1 mk3 if I don’t have an s4?

  • @matnetik
    @matnetik14 күн бұрын

    What are you trying to do? You can use the X1 as a controller for Traktor and use LINK to keep them in sync. Then you can you use Maschine+ as the audio interface to route the audio out of Traktor through Maschine+! Let me know if that helps, cheers!

  • @robertfimbres9628

    @@matnetik thanks for replying so quick! I use maschine to produce and thinking about getting into traktor so I can do live remixes. I have an audio interface already so I guess I’m wondering how to link both softwares so I can mix and integrate my machine productions on the fly

  • @matnetik
    @matnetik14 күн бұрын

    Got ya! Yeah I would just hit LINK in both softwares so they stay tempo matched to which ever software is linked to the other. You could try running Maschine through Traktor's LIVE INPUT deck but you might encounter some latency issues. As long as they are linked and each software is going to the same output, just balance the levels to make sure there isn't any clipping and you should be set to go!

    First of all, Thank you!! All too clear now. My daughter 14 years, start to study singing, and ask to me, I have study music when I was young, to create music for her. But I'm old now and I have difficult to move and play (I played bass guitar) then I'm trying to understand how to create music with sample and loop. I have a PC, and a program call Music Maker. Then I need keyboard right? Is better a Keyboard with drum pads? And a MIc interface to record her voice. Last question, the copyright, If i bought a list of sample and loop and I made a song that we post on youtube or example, the copyright are paid? Now I check on your video if you have done some tutorial, you teach very well :)

  • @matnetik
    @matnetik24 күн бұрын

    Thanks for watching! Nice, you already have a DAW and a concept of the process. The keyboard is 100% optional - you can draw in notes with a mouse or even play from your computers keyboard. I wouldn't dive too deep into MIDI controllers. Keep it simple, the controllers with drum pads end up being a pain to setup and program, you can always use the keys to play drums or loops! Every loop or sample pack will include a term sheet. Most of the time you are free to use the loops and samples in your productions as long as they are not the only sound in the song, you have to layer it with other sounds and instruments. Hope this helps, cheers!

    I'm glad I started out simple on the essential inexpensive hardware . I actually take pride in the fact that I tried to build a setup inexpensively with great price to quality. It left me able to budget in some essential software and get going quickly. You can upgrade and expand software and hardware the deeper you get into it. By then, you'll identify more accurately what your priorities, further needs and wants are both hw and sw- wise, test demos, and gain gear brand awareness. You'll likely hone in on products that will compliment your workflow style later, or just work what you have to the max. I started out with presonus Eris speakers (the small ones). I had planned to upgrade to bigger, but fact is, any bigger and I'd probably be too loud for nearby residents, plus I find myself using headphones 9 times out of 10 After 2 years though, my m20x need replacement pads, but everything else is going strong. Aesthetics, plants and ambient lighting totally helps the creative mood! I like those speakers in the vid. Did you relocate? If so, I hoped the transition went well for you

    It's a fantastic workaround , and i feel NI must make this kind of transition easy for users. Anyhow I noticed that after moving the .plist files to Macintosh > Library > Preferences , even after relocating the library successfully .plist file still has the old path string in it , it never changes the location on the .plist , so does that mean .plist file doesn't serve any purpose after install? and is it ok to delete it !!

    well......I have always had an 8 input audio interface(at least) with an A/D optical-connection converter that has allowed me to run up to 8 midi synths in stereo effortlessly, or 6 leaving 2 for a vocals or guitars, I mean yeah, it´s a nice neat box, but anyone I´ve known with a set up using 2 or more MIDI controlled keyboards, uses an audio interface with at least 4x stereo inputs otherwise they would need to print audio for each synth in order to hear all the parts played back....correct? ....or am I missing something? Forgive me , I´m not "trolling", just a tad curious. After 30 years in production, and working in professional recording situations (DJ´s included) I´ve never seen a set up that used an audio device with 1 x stereo input for a DAW. However, it would be useful in a music store where customers could switch between synths to check sounds. Anyways...peace!

    If this thing was priced at $150-200, I would’ve bought it when I first saw an ad for it like a year ago. But at $300+, it got put into my “interesting gear” folder for the future. Unfortunately, at that price, it’s a mental battle as to whether to just spend a couple more hundreds to get a nice mixer.

  • @matnetik

    This switcher allows you switch between individual synths and send them to a stereo/mono output so you’d be recording one synth at a time. For my personal set up it’s a rare occasion that I need to record more than one synth at the same time, but everyone has their own workflow, a mixer or multichannel interface would be better suited for multitrack recording!

    Yeah I hear that, I make some eurorack gear and when you’re not buying in mass quantity things tend to cost more, along with the amount of labor that goes into these things from a small company. People often say my NTS-1/NTS-2 kits are priced too high but the amount of time I spend soldering justifies it for me haha - I will say the quality is 100P on this switcher though! • @matnetik
    @matnetikАй бұрын

    Depends on how you want to record - with a multichannel mixer/interface you could have everything routed directly to your interface and just pick a specific channel for a specific synth. Given that this is passive, it would be great for a dawless setup or if you just want to run everything through two channels. It’s also great for a set up similar to mine where you want to process anything through a specific character module such as tubes, guitar pedals, or eurorack stuff and also have a clean output to bypass those effects
