I'm the "jealous" detractor. I try to keep my comments private one on one thru email. At least you're shifting here and there. Who else likes the ubiquitous MT bikes?

I had a gsx 1100 e . Fantastic bike . I took engine out . Had it rebuilt with a 1260 big bore kit flowed head and ported. Full race pipes it had a single dcoe carb with a custom-made inlet. Jm. Swing arm . The thing was an absolute beast . My biggest regret was getting rid of it . Will always remember that day . Very sad. But no regret building it and riding it . Not keen on modern bikes nothing more than mobile computers and a headache when they go wrong plus an arm and leg in costs to repair them .

Had one of those. The engine was magic but the bike was prone to high speed wobble - pretty scary at 120+. A fork brace and replacing the little axle clamp studs with larger/harder studs and stronger axle clamps, then adding a steering damper solved the issue. Rode the bike for 60,000 hard miles then sold it, and the new owner totaled it two weeks later. He sold the engine for more than he paid me for the entire bike so that tells how good the engine is.

That looks really nice. Over here in New Zealand we have very high UV levels so need a lot of UV protection. I use 1000 grit wet and dry sand paper then finish off with a couple of coats of 2k clear coat(same clear coat that you use on your car's paint) if you have a small spray gun and compressor, this gives it UV protection, lasts longer.

I'm 64 now. but back in '84 I bought a brand new '82 GS1100E for $2400. Original price of $3600. Same color as yours. Probably now you won't find a 2 year old bike in the dealership new. I absolutely loved that bike. The low-end torque was unbelievable. Thanks for the memories.

The GS1100 was one of my first bikes I sold it for a Panhead Harley with money to spare and never looked back. Guy thought i was crazy for buying it but not so crazy now that I made a fortune selling them later. People practically gave them away for free back in the day cuz everyone wanted the latest greatest super bike but could care less about the Harleys and they junked them.
