Re: online leaderboards, I was sad to lose them but Nintendo is pretty cagey about allowing their games to talk to small company's websites/APIs and I did not have a better solution unfortunately. Also, I'm sorry to hear you lost your save progress, that is the first time I have heard of that happening and is a very nasty bug - I will see if I can figure out the cause and patch it.
I love all the cheap little shmups on the eshop, and I look forward to your reviews every Saturday. You’ve given me some great suggestions and helped me avoid a lot of stinkers, so keep up the great work!

A "how-to-play" feature or a user manual would've been great so the maneuvers don't feel hidden from us players.

Is it me or the knight lance does absolutely nothing? I cant attack or even get it to move around?
That was my experience as well. Tried to make it work for a few runs then gave up on the knight

It seems unlikely that F/A will ever see a release outside of Japan as they have since released another Vertical Shmup called LEGION. However, I simply purchased it on my Japanese PSN account with a Yen Top Up Card bought from Play Asia. There are KZread Tutorials explaining how straight forward this process is. 😁

Congrats on 500 videos!!!🎉 Thanks to you for giving us great videos to enjoy. I remember Gradius 3 with fond memories. When I was a kid the slowdown always felt like a dramatic effect and it didn't bother me😂

Congratulations! It won't take as long to get to 1K, you'll be there in no time. The only games I would add are Space Megaforce (technical marvel with little slowdown) and Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie.
Congrats on 500 Saturday uploads! That's a great milestone, and the fun laid-back vibe makes the series really special. Keep going as long as you enjoy it man. Some really cool games on this SNES list, and I do have a soft spot for Axelay... something about the messy-but-beautiful visuals, the music, the alternation of hori-vert. But my favorite SNES shmup is Super Aleste / Space Megaforce. I come back to that game again and again, and for me it's the pinnacle of the Aleste formula, so gratifying to play.
Yessir 500 uploads is great. Shoot'em Up Saturday has been really good to me the past few years, & It the first thing I click on every Saturday.

It's actually a rare shooter from Namco because they didn't put out shooter's like this. It doesn't do anything different to the formula but what it does is, they put a lot of nice little details throughout the backgrounds all through

Kyukyoku Tiger Toaplan Arcade released here in the United States I'll be grabbing this for my switch along with the dlc asap!
This type of game would be ideal for VR. Not only would it look cool in virtual reality but it also would be much easier to play because everything is in 3D in VR.

Oh, one last change that was welcomed, you aren’t forced to be in the middle of the screen (so if you let go of the analog stick, you aren’t forcibly dragged back to the middle).
That's so huge! It was my biggest gripe with the original version of the game. I'm definitely gonna be picking this up now.

Now as for the 2 kinds of magic, this is actually a carryover from the game’s Pseudo Prequel, Panorama Cotton
So here’s a bit of a fun cheat (which I am not sure you knew of yet or not), if you input Left, Left, Left, Left, Right, Right, Right, Right, Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down on the D-Pad during gameplay, you can give yourself another continue (this can be repeated as often as you want, up to the limit of 9, then you’ll have to wait until its 8, to then give yourself another, this code can also be done in Retro Mode).
It looks like a mobile game.

Just wanted to say I always enjoy your videos. Your channel might not be as big as other shmup youtubers, but its always nice to see a new video uploaded every week from you. Especially when you cover more obscure stuff even if its not a particularly great game.
