You know I'm rewatching the series again for about the third time and I'm just now realizing something, at least during the first 4 seasons, ALL of the Winchesters were the cause of their own problems. If Mary Winchester had not made the deal with Azazel to bring John Winchester back to life in the 1970s, she would not had died 10 years later and Sam would not have been given Azazel's demon blood. Mary and John Winchester had stopped hunting to raise Sam and Dean. Mary didn't want her kids hunting. If she had not died, then John Winchester wouldn't have lost his mind and started living a life of nothing but hunting, and he would not have trained Sam and Dean to hunt. If he had not been hellbent on getting revenge on Azazel, he would not have disappeared to search for Azazel and cause Dean to go grab Sam out of college to look for him. Had Dean not grabbed Sam out of college, Sam would not have met Ruby and started drinking demon blood. Had Sam not met Ruby and drank the demon blood, the apocalypse could've been avoided. I don't think the entire Winchester family should've become hunters because they couldn't handle it psychologically. Unlike most other hunters, they didn't even attempt to have a normal life. They didn't have a permanent home or family, or day job like other hunters, they just lived life on the road doing one hunt after the other. Yes that much experience made them the best, but it also led to them causing the vast majority of everything that happened to them. Yes they saved livesz but they caused much more serious problems in the process. They had no business being hunters because they didn't know how to be anything else. Had they only hunted 2 or 3 times a year, they would've been much better off, caused far less damage, and attracted far p attention from the authorities.

I think the reason Dean acts like he does around Death is that its like a child with his very strict father. No matter how much of a badass you are when confronted with that you turn into a kid again who is trying to show the utmost respect for a being that very much deserves it and you know will whoop your ass if you get out of line.

It's good to see that Dean's ( also Sam's) wardrobe transcends from being a bit disheveled to a more decent style, particularly the scene with abadon. He looks tidy. And also as the show progresses the killings are becoming darker and bloodier.
Some people don't understand how Jack is so powerful but it's explained that the nephilim becomes 100 times more powerful than the angel who created them and are completely unpredictable. With so many eps is hard sometimes to remember details like this, so being the son of THE archangel Lucifer makes him basically a god
