New York City Streets & Books

New York City Streets & Books

NYC enthusiast and author of Unknown New York, from Workman Publishing. I'm also an artist and the leader of the Central Park Sketching Meetup. I've lived in New York City for nearly 20 years, and in that time I've managed to squeeze a lot of books into our tiny apartment, and to learn a lot about the city. I'd love to share both things with you. So we'll go on some bookshelf tours and share book reviews. And we'll go on city tours, too, looking at some of my favorite streets in New York. I hope that you enjoy the journey!

    I would love to know what it cost to live there when it was first built ..? Were they condos , co-ops or just apartments….??

  • @jessekalim
    @jessekalim19 күн бұрын

    Apartments. Plus one building was a hotel. Later, in the past few decades, many were converted to condos.

    My grandfather, George J. McNamee, managed Tudor City when it was a hotel back in the 1930s. Unfortunately, he passed away when I was a baby, so I never heard any stories from him about his life back then. My cousins inherited all the photographs of he and my grandmother from those years…would love to see those old photographs! Granddaddy was good friends with Mr. French (I remember Nana calling him Freddie). Thanks for this video!!

    Congrats you have the original Parable I didn’t know it’s that big I have the smaller version I’m living in denial anything that large format by Moebius is going to command $200. Tom Kings The Vision from 2016 is one of the greatest ever written it’s better than The Watchmen if you understand existential philosophy and Shakespearen tragedy it COULD be one of the greatest films ever but Disney would have to keep thier grubby corporate “diversity inclusive “ paws away from it they’ve already destroyed the MCU after Avengers 2018 it’s all a sick joke . 🤮🤡
