We are the Day family. My name is Amanda and my husband is Aaron. Together with our three kids we are doing our best to make memories and have adventures. Ava is our oldest and is an aspiring singer/actress/writer/ocean activist/doer of all the things. Hayden our silly middle is our BMX racing/dirt bike riding/bouncing through each day/monkey of a child. Last but not least, Holden, the youngest of the bunch. He is the wild child/man of few words/crazy kid. On our channel you will find a mix of our lifes...a little homeschool, family outings, BMX racing, and all around enjoying this life we were given.

They were a sister company of the good and the beautiful but unfortunately they closed last December. They now run until a different name and business model. It’s called create crates and they are mainly arts/crafts type boxes.

What can you say besides wow! I currently have a second grade granddaughter that I started homeschooling this year. We are using Guest Hollow this year for first year American history. It kind of sounds similar in that ours is also literature based. History is her favorite subject and we might switch over next year to this one. You are very lucky to live where you do. That looks like field trip heaven. I am also fortunate to live about a mile from Jacksonville Oregon which is on the national historic landmark list as a gold Rush town. It looks just like an old western town and has been used in movies. But that's a little later on in history. We have a lot of mine shafts that were dug by the Chinese workers.it's definitely a rabbit trail we will take for our local area. Thanks for your very thorough look at this curriculum.

It has 51 pages.
Would you repeat this curriculum each year from grade 3-8? My children Would be in grades 3, 4, and 5 when we'd start.
The way it's set up you can teach the kids all together. The next level should be out later this year so we will do that next year.

Great review. This is my first year homeschooling and I need to cover grades 1, 2, and 8th. I think we can do this as a family and just use the different resources in such a way that my 8th grader can do independent work on her own as well. This is wonderful. Thank you.
I truly believe that you can! There’s different pathways that dive deeper into the lesson that’s broken down by age. There’s even suggested reading for the teacher/parent.
When I get the good and Beautiful history course I will need to print off the work book for each child. I have a 4th grade and 8th grader using this curriculum this year?
I did but I think you could get away with printing pages as needed if you prefer. A lot of the sheets were coloring pages. Especially for the younger ones. My kids don't really love coloring so they skipped those.
We are in Virginia too. So rich with history!

We’re using this for next year too! I’m super excited. We’ll be combining the gentle and standard pathways. My kids will be in Kindergarten and 2nd grade, but there’s still some stuff in the standard I want to cover.

Where did you get the cardboard book holders? We don’t have space for a room as we use the spare as a play room but we do school in our dining room. My girls are 6 and 3. We are about to start 1st but I need to get more organized to make things a bit easier.
Hi there!! I got them at an office supply store. I believe it was office depot but it could have been staples. They were in the section with the office organizing area. They came in a pack of six.
IKEA also has them in two different sizes (plain white).
